don’t hate me…

I started my Christmas shopping today.

I got the chance to zip out of the office a bit early and found myself in the parking lot of a Kohl’s. It’s almost as if my car was on auto pilot! I didn’t find a thing for myself (the original goal of the trip into the store) but I found a little sumtin sumtin for Jim on the clearance rack that I couldn’t pass up. I already grabbed a few things for his birthday at the mall last month, so it looks like I just bought the first Christmas present of 2008.

I SWEAR I’m making a list this year of everything I buy so I don’t overspend as I’ve done in years past! When I get done with my shopping early in the season, I just CAN’T stop shopping. The end result is a ton of gifts under the tree for Jim and the kids that could last for 2 or 3 Christmases.

Great way to make the best of your free time!

  2. I just came back from Kohls with my sister and niece. I got the coupon where you get 15 to 30% off and I got 30%. Its good till November 12 and I got over $300. in gifts for $137.00 it was well worth the hour of my time.
I came home made a list and I’m going back tomorrow.

This year I’ll be organized I promise.

I always try to budget as well but it never works out! How can you put a limit on the amount of joy you bring your loved ones on Christmas?!

I have to admit to being a bit of a ‘bah humbug’ person where Xmas is concerned. I think it’s too commercial and hate the false ‘bonhomie’ that abounds. To be honest I’ll be glad when it’s over. But I bet those that do enjoy it are jealous of you starting your shopping already.

Dang…it’s already that time of year again. Especially with the way this year has been going, I have no choice but to keep an eye on my budget.

  6. Okay, now you made me seriously hate you!!! I don’t even want to think about gifts and all the ‘holly jolly’ yet… but it’s so different when your kids are young and all that stuff is FUN… enjoy your headstart – go ahead – gloat while you can :)
