heroes premiere

I watched the premiere of Heroes today, and I was impressed. I’ve heard from various sources that the folks over at NBC were saying you didn’t need to watch season 1 to get hooked on season 2. I’m not entirely sure about that. Yes, you’ll be able to follow along, since it’s a new storyline, or sorts, but there are certain aspects that won’t wow you as much if you don’t know the background of the show. For example, the last scene in Cork, Ireland…if you didn’t watch last season, that wouldn’t have as much impact on you.

(Excuse the vagueness, I’m trying not to give spoilers for people who didn’t catch the episode yet.)

The premiere episode wasn’t as action packed as some of the episodes we saw towards the end of last season, but it still made a big splash, and provided a nice intro into the new storyline. Some things were a bit predictable, like Claire’s new friend in school, for example. I knew we’d be seeing him in a different light within a few episodes, and sure enough, at the end of the premiere we got to see what he’s all about. I was thrown by the phone call between Mohinder (lord, he’s hot, isn’t he?) and Claire’s dad though, and I’m excited to see what other twists and turns are in store for us.

If you didn’t watch season 1 of Heroes, do yourself a favor and put it on your Netflix list. Watch the episodes before you watch season 2. You’ll enjoy the episodes immensely, and it will make a lot of sense out of the upcoming season.

I guess that is what I need to do, because I was LOST lastnight, trying to see what all the hype is about.

This is the one show that we watch where I always find myself anticipating the next episode. I loved the first season and am hoping that the second season does not have too much network interference. I definitely recommend watching the entire first season to new watchers – it is well worth it!

I watched last season, but I think I didn’t see all of them, because I was even confused by the Cork, Ireland thing…I thought he was… you know. AND, who do you think that was with Hiro’s dad? Email me….
