I was so disappointed by The Amazing Race. I just had a bad feeling when the editing showed a lot of teams talking about Rob & Amber being the team to beat, and then Rob saying he hadn’t peaked yet. You all KNOW that was foreshadowing, reality show style! Funny how a team that can be on top for so long can go to the bottom with one bad day. Sniffle. I absolutely LOVED them saying “Got it” and showing the old clue to Chmirna. It’s a game ladies - don’t trust ANYONE and don’t be shocked when people lie to you. Same thing as Survivor! That’s why we don’t let our kids watch the show. I don’t think it’s a show for kids with all of the scheming that goes on. Good thing, I guess too, considering the smooching going on between Oswald and Danny and Team Guido last night. I don’t care about gay couples being on the show at all, but then again, I’m not letting me kids watch it with me either. I’m sure CBS is going to get a lot of mail about that…but again, it’s not a show for children as far as I’m concerned. (It would be nice if CBS were showing it at 9pm instead of 8pm because of that - the time slot to me, implies family friendly broadcasting.)

I love Sunday nights again, now that The Amazing Race is back on. So far, I’ve been fine with the teams voted out. I love David and Mary, but I also think she’s a little whiny. I’m over Charla and Mirna (Chmirna?) at this point…I didn’t see the season they were on, so this is my first experience with those two. Is there a reason whatshername speaks with a fake Spanish accent? I was laughing SO hard last week at Terri telling those 2 off at the airline counter….she was right, too! Don’t use your height issues to screw over other people. (Just like whatshername last season using her missing leg to board the airplane first, etc)

I am STILL on the Rob & Amber love train. Those 2 are simply amazing.

Yes, yes, YES!! Only one more month til The Amazing Race returns, with an all-star edition for season #11. The season premiere will be on Sunday, February 18th at 8pm, and we’ll be reunited with our favorite (and perhaps most hated) teams from the past season. I didn’t start watching TAR til the season when Rob and Amber joined, so I only recognized 4 of the teams competeting. I should probably look into getting the previous seasons of TAR on DVD so I can catch up and see who I should be rooting for!

(I’ve decided to make categories for each of the reality TV shows I watch here too - that explains the new “The Amazing Race” tag on this post!)

I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed with a finale of The Amazing Race. Not even the family edition, so that’s saying a lot. The challenges weren’t challenging, there wasn’t any drama, and the locations weren’t tough to find. There was no suspense at all. What a lackluster ending to an otherwise very good season! I’m ok with Tyler and James winnning - anyone but Rob and Kim! (I’ll go ahead and admit that I still don’t know which one is Tyler and which one is James. I can’t tell The Blondes apart either)

I am excited to see that there will be an All-Stars season starting in February though.

I didn’t get to watch my DVR’ed copy of The Amazing Race til last night, but it was WELL worth the wait. How nasty and ugly was Karlyn? I really haven’t been bothered by the Bama girls so far during this season - in fact, I’d like to see them win. But she was downright MEAN last night, and to her own teammate! Honey, unless you’re chewing on your own hot camel meat, STFU, mmmkay? This was easily the most frustrated I’ve ever seen the teams. I don’t know if Bama and Rob/Kim were just not reading the clue, or if finding the cluebox was seriously hard, but it seemed to really hold them up. And man, how awful was that tomato throwing roadblock? There’s NO way I could have done that. It was great to see Kim’s freakout. I don’t understand those two - and I really need to see that they’re no longer together after the race. They’re just not a good match, or a good team. Finally…the blondes are gone! Yee-haw! And they didn’t only NOT come in first, they came in DEAD last. SWEET! I was practically jumping up and down watching that!

I can’t wait for next week!

Oh - for all of you searching and landing here thanks to the following phrase:

Are Tyler and James gay?

I don’t know, nor do I care.

It’s getting down to the wire now, and last nights episode didn’t even have a pit stop - it was to be continued, also known as, KEEP RACING! We saw the teams trek through the mud in Finland and go down the side of the Olympic Stadium, spiderman style. Everyone got a message from home, via video email, and the Bama girls cried when they saw their kids. The blondes and their hair and boobs continue to annoy me. The Cho brothers lagged behind for the entire episode. Rob and Kimberly got lost on the way to the mine and continued to fight. They also missed being on the first train by mere seconds…ha, ha!

Well, this was a sad week. David and Mary got sent home. I’m sad to see them go, but more on the couple in a bit. First, have you ever seen a fast forward that took so long? I was amazed that teams who didn’t take the fast forward made it to the final pit store before those who did. And cow lips? There’s no way - I would have had to turn around and go back to the road block. I really liked the intersection that forced teams to team up, but I wish the blondes hadn’t gotten to work with the Cho brothers. Other than losing David and Mary, the episode wasn’t all that interesting.

Now, back to my favorite Kentucky coalminers. They were on The View this week, and Rosie game them vacations, a new SUV, and a new house! Gotta love it when good karma comes around like that for some deserving people. If you missed seeing it, I was able to dig up a clip of the show. Oh, and I love that Mary asked for the Cho brothers to come on the cruise with them. She remembered that without them, she and David wouldn’t have gotten that first fast forward in Kuwait.

Another week, another episode closer to the end of The Amazing Race. This week, we got to see the blondes make a scene at the ticketing counter when they pulled Tyler and James up to the front, thereby letting Tyler and James have “backsies” in front of the Bama girls. Ask any 4th grader - you give someone “backsies”, you’re asking for trouble. The blondes were just stupid enough to wonder why the Bama girls were upset. Well DUH. If they had done that to the blondes, we would have heard about it for the remainder of the episode. Tyler and James, you were too quick to step up in front of the Bama girls, and it had absolutely no effect on your flight, so you choose the wrong battle. I hope it comes back to haunt you.

In other scenes, we saw the other dating couple (who are they - Rob and Kim?) fighting some more. PLEASE, for the love of all things Phil - break up already!

Bama and the Cho brothers show that while they have a 3 way alliance with Kentucky, they are still in this game to win. Kentucky seems a bit too focused on the friendship aspect, and several times Mary held herself up waiting for teams who wouldn’t do the same for her. Still, they were not eliminated, by the skin of their teeth. As long as they come in 1st next week, they’ll still be in this game.

Aka “Buh-bye Peter”.  Why is it that he always made Sarah do all these damn climbing challenges?  He couldn’t take a turn just once?  Idiot.  At least now I know what the “recently” dating caption under their names meant.  Thank god Sarah dumped him - I hope her next boyfriend isn’t such a jackass.

The blondes once again show their lack of smarts in messing with the Alabama single moms.  Find your own Kuwaiti to get directions - don’t bogart someone elses!  And the Cho brothers - I think I’m in love.  I was so, so pleased how they worked with Kentucky to get them the fast forward.  And that they weren’t eliminated after that - the icing on the cake!

Now, if we can just get rid of the blondes, and the other dating couple, this would be an enjoyable show.
