I was able to carve out a few minutes to watch the finale of The Amazing Race, and I am beyond thrilled that Ron and Christina sailed to the finish line hours ahead of everyone else, despite that challenge with the grizzly bears that looked like it would end their winning streak.
Wait, that’s not what happened. Oh right, right…the nice guys won! Actually, that’s not entirely correct either, since all 3 of the final teams were nice people. Ok, maybe Ron started out as a grump, but he really tried, and he lightened up on his daughter…A LOT. TK and Rachel took home the million dollars though, barely beating Ron and Christina to the finish line. I was shocked to read that hippie boy TK is only 22! He looks a lot older…it must be the dreads and the general unclean look he’s got going for himself. For once, I liked all of the teams in the finals, and would have been happy for any of them to win.
How long until The Amazing Race 13 begins?

I was seriously thrilled at the conclusion of The Amazing Race last night, for more than one reason. First, CBS didn’t screw me over by having football on, which normally causes 60 Minutes to run late, which screws up my DVR recording of The Amazing Race. The show came on as scheduled last night - yay!
I was so happy when Rachel and TK caught up with everyone else, thanks to the floating garden opening late. Watching Jenn simmer over everyone else doing so well was fantastic, and seeing Nate and Jenn come in LAST to the pit stop was the icing on the cake. I can’t recall a final episode of TAR that will have three teams in it that I genuinely like. I’ve got my favorites, of course, but I’d be happy seeing any of the three teams left go home with a million dollars. Whereas, if Nate and Jenn had won, I would have put my foot through the television screen.
I’m not going to be home to watch the finale, so I hope they broadcast the show in [name of top secret location I’m visiting]. Failing that, I hope my DVR doesn’t implode while I’m gone, so that I can watch it when I get back.

In tonight’s episode, Ari learned that he is NOT a bigger bitch than Karma. Doesn’t he know donkeys are stubborn? Yelling at the poor animal wasn’t going to make it do his bidding. How long do you suppose that can Kynt keep his makeup going? Sooner or later, he’s going to get wet and we’ll get to see his real face.
My favorite teams so far are Kate & Pat, Ronald & Christine, and Azaria & Hendekea. I think my sister and I should apply to run the race. Can I get a volunteer to watch my kids for 40 days so I can go off and do that?

I’m not sure how I’m going to keep myself busy without Survivor and The Amazing Race. The season always seem so long when the shows start, but it flies by. I’m a little sad now that the only reality shows I watch are done for the season. I have to say, Survivor China looks mighty interesting. It was time to mix things up again - they haven’t done the non-island location in a long time (Australia and Africa, right?) and there are only so many times I can watch people battle it out in the same type of location. China should be very, very interesting.
For now, my only reality show is Ladettes to Ladies. I did see some kind of talent show (America’s Got Talent?), that I guess is in it’s 2nd season? It reminded me of the Gong Show. It will be good for laughs, no doubt, so I’ll probably set the DVR to record a few episodes.

I won’t spoil the ending for you if you haven’t watched the final of The Amazing Race All Stars yet, but I was happy. The last episode had some very challenging tasks, and one roadblock with a twist, and I really enjoyed it. Phil and his package were looking as delicious as ever.
I always enjoy seeing all of the eliminated teams at the finale as well. Am I the only person who forgets that people even were in this round? When I saw the first team eliminated standing there at the final mat, and heck, even the 2nd team, and Mary and David, I thought to myself, “Oh yeah…they were on this season too!” I guess only the most recently eliminated teams stick with me.

My, my, my…this certainly is going to be an interesting finale for Survivor, with 2 all female teams, and out of 6 contestants, only one male! I guess at this point, I’m pulling for Eric and Danielle, even though I think he’s not very nice to her. I really haven’t ever liked the blondes, and I really hope it comes out they they paid Danny & Oswald to specifically yield Eric and Danielle. And of course, I can’t stand Mirna and Shmirna. What the heck is up with those accents - STILL? “How you say…” What an embarrassment to the United States. I cracked up at the military guy telling whatsherface over and over, “Ma’am, please do not touch the buttons on the GPS. Ma’am, I told you, do not touch the buttons.” Ha!

Well, well, well.
What an interesting episode of The Amazing Race! I’m not sure if it was clever editing at the end, or if those Dirty Blondies really did let Eric & Danielle think that Danny & Oswald chose who to yield. We all saw the blondes hand over the cash and say who to use it on, but the blondes neglected to fill in Eric on that part of the deal. It’s going to be a very interesting epispde next week, with Eric gunning for Danny and Oswald - I can only hope they tell him that the blondes requested who the yield was to be used on!
That aside…interesting episode. Even with the yield, Danielle and Eric came in ahead and stayed in the game. And sheesh, another non elimination round? Is next week the final episode, or are there 2 more left?

Another episode of The Amazing Race, another episode of Charla and Mirna using fake accents across the world. Why do they think that this works? Why do they think that getting into a travel agents personal space and dropping key words from your sentences (e.g, “You do for us?” Instead of “Can you do this for us?”) is considered a form of communication? Argh.
What was up with that 7 hour wait in the travel agents office? I would have found a computer and hit Priceline by then. I’m not that patient.
And who says Polish people are dumb? Years of Pollock jokes have led us to believe that the Polish people aren’t very bright. Well, I don’t believe it - after all, they saw right through Charla and Mirna’s crap, didn’t they? Seeing those two get shunned on the streets of Warsaw was the best thing EVER.
Absolutely LOVED the intersection that forced former enemies to work together. Very well planned!
I was unhappy to see the Guidos go, ONLY because I wanted Charla and Mirna to take a hike.

Terri and Ian went home…I was indifferent. This was my first race with those two, and I really didn’t like them that much. Charla and Mirna took a chance on an airline and it paid off huge for them, so they came in 1st again. And again, they annoyed me with the fake accents. Ugh! The challenges seemed pretty easy - the puzzle, moving logs, throwing the thing at the mask…and the big airline delay proved to be a great thing for Joyce and Uchenna, because they’re still in it.
I miss Ramber.

On The Amazing Race last night, Chmirna (that would be Charla and Mirna) worked their way to my all time most disliked players list. Right up there with the blondes! What is wrong with people who adopt a phony accent when speaking to people that have a legit accent? WHY? My father did that, or rather, does that, and it annoys me to no end. There is NO need to speak in a phony baloney accent, and broken English, to get your point across the a foreigner. LAME! (and I get that they were born in another country, and speak plenty of foreign languages, but there’s no need to accent your regular old English when you were raised in the states)
I was happy to finally see a non elimination round, but I don’t know if Joyce & Unchenna can pull it off. I think I liked the old way better when people just lost their money and passports. And I’m missing Rob & Amber in a big way. Team Guido is annoying me. Whatshisname kept calling Eric “Guy” instead of his name. That’s another thing my father does. If you don’t know someone’s name, learn it…don’t call them something else. “Watch your jokes, Guy.” Shutup, Team Guido.
