The 14th season of Survivor will premiere on CBS at 8pm (ET) Thursday, February 8th. This time, the 19 contestants will be stranded in Fiji. The players range in age from a 55 year old school bus driver named Gary, to a 23 year old college student named Michelle. It will be interesting to see what twists, if any, that CBS comes up with this year. I didn’t think last years 4 “ethnic” team approach was all that interesting.

How great was Survivor Thursday night? Jonathan flipped again, and now he’s pissed off everyone in the tribe at one time or another. He’s the perfect person to take to the final 2. I heart Yul, so I’m thrilled he’ll be staying around a bit longer. Ozzy is growing on me – I thought for sure he’d buddy up with Nate and not stick with his team, but he proved me wrong. Candice + Adam = yick. Next week is going to be a good one for sure – drama, drama, drama!

Man, my Thursday night TV lineup sucked 10 kinds of ass last night. Reruns of EVERYTHING and a Survivor recap show. What’s that all about? I didn’t learn anything new on Survivor, so that was an hour wasted…boring.
What a disappointment.

Is it just me, or is this season incredibly boring? Wait, before I say that – the challenge was exciting. Nothing like a bunch of people making other people eat sand. Literally. Candice proved herself to be one tough bitch, and won the challenge for her team thanks to her efforts. What was up with Christina and her little freak out session during the challenge? Two people got voted off, one of whom was Cao Boi, so we will no longer have to listen to bad Asian jokes. Cristina went home too. Snoozefest.

Survivor was pretty ho-hum this week. Nate has seemed hell-bent on getting Stephannie sent home for 2 weeks, and he finally did it. I felt bad for her – a simple wish for some good food blew up into a bigger issue, and they sent her packing. It should have been Christina. The challenges weren’t impressive either…I was wondering at the end why the guys didn’t put any of the girls on their shoulders, that would have seemed like the easiest way to get everyone on or above the platform.
I think my whole problem with the season so far is all the movement of players and teams. Why start out with 4 if you’re going to combine them into 2 teams just a few episodes in? Due to that, I still don’t have a favorite team. I do have favorite players though - Becky, Brad, Yul, and Jonathan. And someone tell Jeff Probst to take off the cowboy hat - it’s sooo not him.
I think it’s time for a challenge that isn’t physical – maybe something involving gross island food? And it’s time for a prize that isn’t a tarp, pillows, blankets, spices…etc. Raise the stakes!

I can’t believe I flaked out on watching it. We went and picked up our new TV and I just completely forgot about Survivor. Tuesday night I missed The Amazing Race because I was watching The Biggest Loser.
It’ll be the last time that happens. When I called the cable company today to add the High Definition package she told me I could get the HD-DVR for $10 a month extra. SOLD!!

I’m not watching My Name Is Earl because I keep hoping The Amazing Race – Family Edition won’t suck as bad as it did the week before. I should just give up on it already. And tonight I have a meeting at church at 7pm, so by the time I get home, and drop my babysitter off at her house, I’m going to miss most of Survivor. I am missing hours of quality TV by not having a Tivo. Poor me.

5 minutes into the new Survivor and I’m hooked! I like the aging hippie / Hagrid look alike. Loving him stealing the shoes! The woman in the scout uniform is already on my nerves and she hasn’t opened her mouth to speak.
