That said, I usually get new insurance quotes every two years or so, just to make sure our current policy can’t be beat. It only takes a few minutes, and it gives me the peace of mind of knowing I’m getting a decent deal from our current provider. In fact, it was one of my random quote checks that led us to our current insurer back in 2001. We saved almost $800 by switching, and kept the same coverage and level of service we were used to. Remember back in the day, when you had to call up insurance companies one by one to get a quote, telling each one your name, address, car details, mother’s maiden name, date of your high school prom, and tons of other useless details? We have it easy, being able to pop online, type all of our details out, and get 3 or 4 quotes back at once. There’s no excuse for not shopping around on a regular basis to make sure you’re getting the best price possible on your car, motorcycle, or homeowners insurance!

2 of the kids were up, but Gracie takes after me, and she loves her sleep. So I went to snuggle with her for a few minutes before waking her.

I hopped into the shower and did a quick rinse off and shaved my legs and all that good stuff, and then it was on to doing my hair. It was a little humid, so I used the flat iron.

All ready to go! You can see my extra closet behind me – the bottom half is my gift closet. The other door is where the toilet is.

I found time for a little Guitar Hero with the kids before we had to leave…

Dropped the kids at school, cranked up Hits 1 on Sirius, and got moving – it’s 8:20am!

The cows were cute this morning. We live in the sticks!

I don’t drink coffee, so I take a can of Coke with me in the car each morning. It’s my breakfast.

Ah…the open road. I’m on my way to the office now.

And yes, I do have a lead foot. The speed limit is 70, so I do 80 til I hit traffic. I love that little green control panel in the center too – I never look at my fuel gage anymore since it tells me exactly how many miles I have til empty.

Pulling into the parking garage…my windshield is nasty from the lovebugs.

Can’t forget my passkey for the doors – I put it on this bright orange thingie so I see it in my purse or laptop bag. I don’t wear it though – too tacky looking.

Wow, those long hours at work just flew by, didn’t they? Time to go!

Sitting in traffic…

On the phone with Jim. And then I called my sister. I make a lot of calls on the road.

Traffic on a part of the road where there shouldn’t be any…it was backed up for miles. I had road rage.

The reason for the backup. Stupid rubberneckers. Yes, we’ve never seen anyone get a ticket, so we’ve all got to slow down and look!

Home again, home again, jiggity jig. Pulling into my garage…kids bikes on left, then Jim’s bike, our beer fridge is against the back wall, and lots of Christmas decorations are up on the shelf.

Dinner is done, the kids are in bed, time for Mommy time!

I’m in my jammies and doing the dishes. We have a dishwasher, but I had to do some things by hand.

Mmmm…screw top wine is the BEST.

I watched the last episode of The Price Is Right (and cried) and then went to bed.

And speaking of carnival submissions, what’s up with all of the random people who just submit any old blog entry to a themed carnival? When I hosted the postie carnival I got 2 or 3 from people who obviously didn’t read the instructions, and I was a meanie and didn’t include their link. And hey – if you can’t follow the instructions, why should I? Other hosts have been nicer, and included those people, but still pointed out that they didn’t follow the rules…and it’s mostly the same offenders time and time again.

Now, this carnival is a photo theme – you submit a blog entry with pictures embedded. It says so right in the sign up form. Yet both times I’ve done it, I’ve gotten completely random entries submitted. Are people carnival whores? Do they just submit random posts in hopes that people will link them anyway? I emailed a few people to point out their submission didn’t fit the rules, and got no response, so I think they’re carnival whores.

Dirty whores.

Good morning Sunshine! Anyone who has been around me in the morning knows that I am NOT a morning person.

Time for some toothpaste. I can’t kiss Jim goodbye til I’ve brushed my teeth.

And speaking of Jim, he’s in the closet. Literally. He was all dressed for work and grabbing a change of clothes to he could go to the Tampa Bay Lightning playoff game after work.

Time for me to head downstairs and drive the kids to school.

Once I’m done with that, it’s time to start working. Lots of email to deal with this morning.

I work at home, but I have 2 coworkers to spend the day with. They don’t do much, but they don’t leave my side.

Time for the first Coke of the day. I don’t drink coffee, and I don’t like to eat first thing in the morning either. I always start my day off with a Coke.

Lola needs her medicine, and I have to hide it in a piece of cheese to get her to eat it. She got bit in the kennel this weekend, but our other dog, because the kennel didn’t feed them separately.

Crap! It’s garbage day, and I still have trash in the house. And yes, I am wearing my jammies outside!

Time for a break from work to do a little paid blogging. I keep track of what I blogged where using this very technical system of a marking lines on a post it note.

Almost noon…time for breakfast! I told you I eat late!

Yum! Rice Chex are delish. Time to watch something I DVR’ed a few nights ago, a new show called “Notes From The Underbelly”. Hilarious!

2pm…time to shower! I love these Venus Divine razors. Spendy, but worth it.

All clean and shiny!

I have a lot of hair. It takes me forever to blow dry it.

I slip on my current favorite pair of Skechers so I can head out to pick up the kids.

We’ve still got our rental car, so I put the top down and head out.

A quick stop at the school and we’re ready to head home!

Yay, school is over!

Back home, and hanging in the dining room while homework is started.

Everyone does their homework right after school in our house. Matthew didn’t have any, so he’s already off playing.

I head outside to water the plants. This is the tomato plant and pepper plant that Gracie planted. We’ve got veggies coming in on both of them!

My workday is over, but it’s too early for dinner. Time for a snack of Wheat Thins and cheddar cheese.

Time for dinner! Jim isn’t home, so in true slacker mom fashion, I let the kids eat outside and watch TV.

And again, since Jim isn’t home, we’re having a slacker mom meal of mac n’ cheese.

Later on, the kids are all in bed, and it’s time for me to head there too…but there’s crap all over the bed, so I’ve got to clean up first.

Lola is all ready for bed…she made this little cave in some pillows and an extra blanket. See the little black spot in the middle of all the bedding?

I tuck myself in. Night night!
