It’s time for a quick “It’s almost mid-August” recap:

• My birthday was 2 weeks ago, and I still never blogged about my birthday presents. Jim got me a gorgeous Coach purse like the one shown here. One small exception - mine has the two toned blue Coach signature scarf attached instead of the brown shown here. This is the part where I need to brag on my husband, who picked this out all by himself. He’s been stalking purses in the Coach store for months trying to decide which one I’d like the best, and I think he did a fabulous job. It hasn’t been off my arm for a minute!

  In addition to the purse, as if that wasn’t enough, he got me two tickets to see George Michael in concert the weekend after my birthday! I’m a HUGE George Michael fan, but I was a wee bit too young to attend his concert during his “Faith” and “I Want Your Sex” hey-dey. I had almost purchased my own ticket to go with a friend, but it didn’t work out. On the morning of my birthday I was lamenting to a coworker that I wished I had just gone ahead and gotten the tickets because I was regretting not being able to go…and lo and behold, what do I find inside my birthday card? On top of that, he said to use the extra ticket he purchased for a friend who is also a big George Michael fan, and we had a fabulous girls night out. George Michael had a fantastic set and sounded amazing.

• We also just returned from a vacation. I’m sunburned and tired, but we came out $1350 (!!!) richer. Jim hit it big in the casino on Saturday night, staying until 3am. He worked his way up to $1100 in winnings thanks to a generous craps table and a sweet roulette wheel. I made $250 on the 2 cent slots. It’s the first time I’ve ever come back from vacation with more money than when I left!
• School for the kids starts next week, and school for me starts this weekend! I’m taking 3 courses this term: Management of Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, and Business Ethics. In the 2nd fall term, I’ll be taking another 3 courses, bringing my grand total for the semester to 6 classes. Yes, I’m carrying a full time load AND working full time, oh, and KEEPING an almost 4.0. (Damn that B in my 2nd statistics class!) I see that finish line ahead of me, and I just want to be done as soon as possible, rather than dragging this out one class at a time.

That’s it for now folks, aside from saying I’m desperately looking forward to getting away with friends next month. I’ve only had *two* vacation this year, and with as much as I’ve accomplished, I think I’m due for a few more.
