I need to preface this by saying I’m not cheap. Ok, maybe I am – a little? I have Netflix, and I’ve got the cheapest plan possible. I used to have one of the plans that cost around $20 a month,a and I could have several movies out at a time. The problem was that I never watched the movies, and I’d have the same three movies for 6 months. No lie! I kept a DeNiro movie for SIX MONTHS! I decided to change plans and save money, so now I’m one the one at a time plan.

That means when I mailed back my last Dexter DVD (Season 1, disk 1) on Saturday, I had to wait several days for a new DVD. Usually Netflix is pretty fast, but since the post office is closed on Sunday, I lost a day there. They didn’t even get my disk until Monday, and I got disk 2 yesterday. I could have watched all 4 episodes of Dexter right then and there, but I decided to ration it – 2 yesterday, 2 today. The “Return To Sender” episode yesterday had my stomach in knots. I was literally on the edge of my seat wondering if Dexter would be fingered for the crime. The guy has definitely grown on me from the first few episodes I watched.

I switched to the same plan, and I quite like it. I used to go into a DVD on TV coma watching all of Big Love, Grey’s Anatomy, or Weeds in one sitting. Now I can pace myself and enjoy the show!

I’m bad about mailing stuff back…but hey, Bobby Deniro is worth keeping for 6 months. ;)

Deb – DeNiro and Pacino have a new movie coming out in 2008! I think it’s the first thing they’ve done together since GodFather II, and that does’t count since they didn’t have any scenes together.

It seems I’ve found a support group for keeping my Netflix DVDs for months on end!!
