I guess a high of 80 isn’t technically hot, but it was 37 when I got home on Friday night!

I had planned to make a big pot of chili tonight (beans, rice, cheddar cheese, and corn muffins – yum!) but the girls ended up being invited to dinner and a sleepover at the neighbors. There really wasn’t much point to making chili for Jim and I and the boy, who doesn’t even like chili. So I’m off to pick up Chinese food in a few…pork lo mien and pork fried rice – my favorites!

In other news, we’ll be having our own sleepover guest tonight. Since our girls are going to the neighbors, we invited their son over here to spend the night with our boy, lest he feel left out. I’ve definitely got the better end on this deal. Neighbors have 3 pre-teen girls who will stay up giggling and watching movies until 3am, and I’ve got two little boys. Oh sure, the boys are no doubt louder and rough house more, while they’re awake, but these two usually pass out before 11pm!
