My oldest daughter failed a test today - quite possibly, the only test she’s failed in 7 years of school. She’s a straight A student and was just awarded a certificate this week for having a 4.0 GPA. Sadly, this is something I knew would happen. She was destined to follow in my footsteps - and how could she not? She’s practically my clone, my mini-me. We’ve been playing a waiting game until now, and the gig is up.

Catherine took part in a vision screening at school, and she failed!

She’s got 20/50 vision in both eyes. I got my glasses when I was 9, so she made it two years longer than I did. I made an appointment at a local eye doctor the week after Thanksgiving, so it’s only a matter of time before she’s sporting four eyes. While I was at it, I made appointments for the other kids too, because I’m sure at least one of them is bound to have inherited my eye issues.

Having a 3 year old in glasses, I know your pain. The sucky thing is that Madison’s glasses costed almost as much as mine!!!

I keep saying my kids are all doomed to need glasses early too. So far we’ve made it through, I’m betting Lucas will be the first to need them and he will be stubborn and not want to wear them.
