When Jim and I were dating, he moved into a house with a friend of his. Being that Jim was:

1) Male
2) Cheap

he went to my least favorite store, Wal-Mart, to purchase the things he needed for his bachelor pad. His purchases included some fine Wal-Mart brand bath towels, and I’ll never forget the horrible colors he selected. Teal, and maroon. (I still remember what they looked like because those old towels live in my laundry room now, as dog towels.)

When we got married, being that we were:

1) Young
2) On a budget (note: not the same as cheap!)

we bought towels from Target, which are also now known as dog towels in my house. In fact, it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I decided we were grown ups, and gosh darn it, we deserved nice linens! I moved into the world of high thread count sheets, and duvets, and bath towels that stay thick and cushy even after repeated washings. I have thick beach towels, and cutesy hand towels, and fancy towels in my powder room that you shouldn’t even THINK about using to dry your hands.

I’ve actually bought linens, including 600 thread count sheets, and towels more than once from Overstock.com and I’m quited pleased with everything I got. You can’t beat the prices! I paid $50 for a set of 600 TC king sheets and they’re still my favorite sheets. The towels are fabulous – it’s the complete outlet shopping experience, online. You’ll find fancy oversized Egyptian towels, micro cotton towels, cute beach towels, kitchen towels – you name it, they’ve got it. Ooh, they’ve even got all those fancy decorative towels for the half bath or guest bath, and the sets are a fraction of what you’d pay at Linens N’ Things or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. And the selection – huge. Lots of colors, tons of size options, including the bath sheet – a towel actually big enough to wrap your WHOLE body in!

I found the cutest set of decorative towels with Hawaiian shirts on them. Perfect for the kids beach themed bathroom!

I LOVE Overstock, but they won’t deliver to Canada without a US address/credit card #.
