I haven’t blogged about the whole mess involving Hulk Hogan and the accident his son Nick was in…but it’s time. grazianowreckFor those of you who don’t know, Nick Hogan, aka Nick Bollea was driving in Clearwater on August 26th with a passenger by the name of John Graziano. Nick crashed his yellow Supra in downtown Clearwater on Court Street, which probably doesn’t mean anything to most of you. I’ve driven down that road several times, and it’s a relatively quiet area, and the road goes from 2 lanes in each direction, to 4…and it’s a road with businesses, plenty of lights, etc. It’s a horrible spot to even attempt to speed, let along have a drag race.

John wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and when Nick crashed the car (after racing with a Dodge Viper that has yet to be located, but strangely, is an exact match for the Dodge Viper owner by Hulk Hogan) John was injured badly. His skull cracked, his brain is swollen, and blood pooled in his head. Even now, a month and a half after the accident, John remains in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL. John’s mother has petitioned for guardianship of her 22 year old son, because John will need lifelong care. At best, he will be only able to open and close his eyes. He went from a young, strapping Marine, to a vegetable, in a matter of moments thanks to Nick Bollea.

And let’s talk about Nick - shall we? I watch the TV show with the Hogan family, known as Hogan Knows Best. I’ve seen the Hulk, aka Terry Bollea hold his daughter to a high standard, and lay out some very stiff rules for her to follow. Sadly, he doesn’t do the same with his son. Nick was popped for speeding just 2 1/2 weeks before the accident, on August 10th. He was driving 82 in a 45 construction zone, WITH workers present! He wasn’t wearing his seat belt either. If my 17 year old were caught doing that, they wouldn’t be driving a mere 2 weeks later, and an accident like this wouldn’t have ever happened.

Nick has other tickets too, for driving more than 100 MPH, and he’s boasted to magazines about talking his way out of tickets. His mother, Linda Bollea, is quick to defend him, saying he’s a sweet boy who loves cars. He’s also in dire need of some tough love, Linda. Take away his keys before he hurts someone else!

How unreal, that his mother would defend him. Horrible for John, whose active life has been cut short.

That section of 19, during that time of day, is always packed…solid. He had to have been weaving though traffic like a madman to achieve that speed.

The question is: “Why is his mother defending him?” and with so many tickets there are no excuses. Great post.

ALL I CAN SAY IF IT WAS YOU OR ME OR ANYONE ELSE , WE WOULD ALL BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW, AWAITING TRIAL FOR VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER, WHAT A SCREWED UP SYSTEM WE HAVE AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY SHOULD BE GETTING TIRE OF THIS PREFERRED TREATMENT.

The sad reality about this whole situation is that in my opinion other than the obvious victims Terry is being victimized by his own family and the public. I understand that Linda and or Terry would defend Nick, After all you would do the same if it were your child. But when we come down to it Nick needs to be held accoutable without all this loophole bull, Nick should be the one to pay for this for the rest of his life to ensure it will never happen again and to take care of his part in this horrible misshap. I’m so sorry what happened to both families and I PRAY that a miricle will happen mostly for John and that this could be a somewhat happy ending.
