Would you ever consider having a boob job?
On my list of things I’d fix about myself, it’s #3. If I had any work done, the first priority would be Lasik surgery for my eyes, followed by getting my teeth straightened, again. (Kids, wear your retainers!) A breast enlargement would be my third choice of things to have done. I know it’s not for everyone, and I should be happy with the body I got, blah blah blah. It’s not all about impressing others for me though. I’d love to be able to have any shirt I put on fit properly. I’d love to be able to buy any bikini I wanted, right off the rack. And it’s not just American woman who feel the same way, because breast enlargement surgery is the most common plastic surgery procedure done in the United Kingdom, according to Make Yourself Amazing. MYA, as it’s known, is a cosmetic surgery company based in the United Kingdom.
I know lots of women who aren’t A cups consider breast enhancement as well, whether it be to give themselves a lift due to age, or having kids. Some even go smaller so they can alleviate back pain and other health concerns.
This article about Make Yourself Amazing illustrates why they’re one of the better rated cosmetic surgery companies in the UK. The doctor told the reporter that she could never have a completely flat stomach, and if she wasn’t 100% comfortable with the idea of surgery, that she shouldn’t have it. I love that a plastic surgeon was honest and completely upfront with a potential client, and not just in it for the money!

Umm…nope, not need the breasts enlarged over here.
As a person who might have had one or two things “fixed”… I would rather have a physician be upfront with me about what is possible to fix and what is not.
SO, SO many doctors only care about the cash– it’s a shame!
Colleen,
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to be more comfortable in your own skin. Now that we have the means (or our physicians do, anyway) to perform boob jobs, there’s no reason why people shouldn’t take advantage of that.
I went for a Lasik evaluation a couple of months ago and was very lucky to meet with an honest doctor. He told me that Lasik might fix my eyes completely but that they were so bad it would probably just make them better and I’d still need glasses or contacts. He actually recommended a lens implant procedure that he doesn’t even perform. Unfortunately the price and risk aren’t worth ditching my contacts. I’m very glad I didn’t end up with a doctor who went ahead with surgery and then reminded me after the fact that there’s no guarantee you’ll see 20/20.
This is my first visit to your blog (followed the ad link from John Cow) and I like it. I am also addicted to 90210 reruns and reality TV. In fact, I’ve been considering a 90210 blog that describes a scene daily and challenges readers to guess the episode. No one will play that game with me anymore.
