I was just upstairs in my laundry room, putting away the wet and stinky dog towels. Matthew wasn’t feeling well last night or this morning, so he took a mental health day from the 3rd grade. It was nice having him home with me today, and once he was feeling better this afternoon, he needed something to do. I suggested washing both dogs, and he not only gave them baths, but brushed them and toweled them dry. The towels smell like wet dog now, and they’re festering in my warm laundry room. Since the laundry room is upstairs, and heat rises, it’s always warmer up there (unless I turn down the thermostat) AND we have a window in the laundry room that gets a lot of sunlight. We have blinds on the window, but we really need some kind of shade or roller blinds to block out more of the sun. It’s hellish up there when you’re trying to fold laundry or stand near the warm dryer. Two of the other bedrooms get a lot of sun like the laundry room, and the sun blocking drapes I bought made a huge different in the comfort levels of those rooms. Not to mention, they keep the kids from waking up as soon as the sun is up!
