There was a time in my life, not too long ago, when I absolutely hated paying the bills each month. It was always a big balancing act…should we pay the credit card bill on time, or the electric bill? Did we have money to pay more than just the minimum balance? How late could we pay the cable bill before we were threatened with a shut off notice? Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating a little – it certainly wasn’t always like that, but it happened often enough that paying the bills wasn’t any fun. It was tough making it on one income, and it’s even tougher when you get yourself into debt and have to climb out of that hole. Having bad credit wasn’t fun, but it definitely makes me appreciate the good credit I have now a lot more. I’m careful to think before I overspend, and I pay attention to the due dates on credit card bills, the fees I’m being charged – I guess I turned out to be a wise consumer, after all?
If you’re dealing with bad credit, and beginning to get frustrated because you can’t buy a car, or get a mortgage, CreditLoan.com has some great articles on finance and credit that will give you some insight on how to cope. Not only that, you’ll learn how to get out of your bad credit situation and be a smart credit user. I’m telling ya – not having creditors calling the house to ask when you’re going to make that payment is awesome! I’ve said it here a million times, but debt consolidation is what helped us, and I swear by it. It was the only thing that taught us discipline and how to use credit the right way, and even now, years later, it’s stuck with me. And I’ve got the credit rating to prove it!
