Earlier this week, I mentioned affiliate training. I didn’t give my background on my failed affliate marketing experiment, so that’s worth a mention.
When I ran my website for moms, several years ago, I had one advertiser in particular who negotiated advertising with me on a flat rate scale according to my traffic. It worked out quite well for me, since I received a nice chunk of change each month, but eventually the advertiser decided to switch to an affiliate marketing model, in which I’d receive a percentage of sales made from visitors to my site. I had no knowledge of affiliate marketing at that time, and although I marketed their site with the banners, buttons, and links provided, ultimately, I went to a fraction of the income I had been bringing in previously.
You might say that I failed in part because the advertiser failed to educate me on how to make money with their affiliate links. It would have made sense for them to provide training to me on how to make money with the new system, because it would have meant more money in their pockets.
The affiliate training provided by SmartAff.org is definitely something I could have used - and in fact, I could still make good use of it, even today. I have regular readers of this blog who take my reviews seriously, and they take a look at things I give a nod to. The training offered focuses on revenue per visitors instead of conversions, cost per click, and click through rates.
Worth a look for anyone interested in having income every month from affiliates!
