I got a shiny new phone last month, and would you believe I still don’t have a clue as to how to add a ringtone to it? I’ve actually downloaded (and paid for!) two ringtones through AT&T, and while I know where they are on the phone, and can play them for fun, I can’t get them to show up as a ringtone option. It’s irritating to me that I’ve spent $3 on 2 separate ringtones and I can’t get either to work. I haven’t called tech support yet to figure out what I’m doing wrong, but that will be next!
In the meantime, perhaps I can play around with free ringtones instead? At least when I download one of these, I don’t have to pay, and seeing as how I can’t figure out what I’m doing, that might be the better option. “Free” ringtones doesn’t mean totally cheesy wav files either – the site has over 900 free ringtones from major artists (50 Cent ringtones, Carrie Underwood ringtones, Justin Timberlake ringtones, The Fray ringtones…and tons more), movies, TV shows – even Billboard Top 40 songs! I even found a Star Wars ringtone, similar to the one I paid $3 to AT&T for the privilege of downloading.
If you’ve got kids with cell phones, this is a great way to let them play around with ringtones without worrying about getting a big fat cell phone bill at the end of the month.
