Back when I got married, a whopping 11 1/2 years ago, you typically saw wedding favors that included matchbooks with the bride and groom’s name on them, or napkins with their names and the date, or even bottles of wine, with a face preprinted label on them. Being that my husband-to-be and I closed on our first home 2 weeks before the wedding, we were on a tight budget. I actually made all of our own wedding favors using empty 4 ounce glass formula bottles, candy, and fancy Mylar paper. I spent MANY a night hunched over my dining room table, cursing myself for attempting to save money by making my own wedding favors.

photocoastersSeriously people – don’t try to save a buck by doing your own wedding favors. It’s not worth the headache and hassle. Instead, try a site that sells wedding favors, like Yolanda’s Wedding Favors. Having not been to a wedding in a while, I was amazed at the different types of favors for bridal showers, baby showers, and weddings. Whereas I was limited to napkins and matchbooks, brides today can choose from candles, coasters, wine stoppers, magnets, and anything else you can think of. And themes – do they have themes! Las Vegas themed favors, beach themed wedding favors, items made from crystal – and the prices are great. I found glass photo coasters for only $2. That’s a great price – especially when you consider that it’s one less thing to do before your wedding. Or how about a heart shaped crystal wine bottle stopper for only $3.50? You’ll pay too much for a lot of things when you get married, from your wedding gown to the hall rental to the photographer. Don’t let your wedding favors be one of those things you pay too much for!
