This is, quite possibly, the best thing I’ve seen on YouTube in a long time. It’s got all of the makings of a huge hit - a cute baby, a dog, the sci-fi angle (check out that teleporter), great camera nad editing work, and product placement. It’s a 2 part series called Ready, Set, Bumbo.

(In case you’re not a parent, or have old kids like me, Bumbo is the brand name of the seat that the baby is in.)

During my birthday dinner this weekend, the topic turned to a cruise that my little family went on in 2005. We spent a week on the seas, aboard the Carnival Victory, and visited Mexico, Grand Cayman (my son LOVES to tell people that he’s been to Hell!) and Jamaica. Of the 3 ports of call we visited, Jamaica is the one I’d like to go back and explore the most. We spent the day in Ocho Rios and toured a garden, did a quick look around the city, and then spent most of our day at Dunn’s River Falls. No one told us that it was something you get IN the water to enjoy, and we weren’t dressed for climbing up the falls, so we enjoyed them from the scenic overlooks. I did get in at one shallow part, abut halfway up, and led the kids out to enjoy the VERY cold water. There are plenty of other attractions in Jamaica that I would have loved to have visited, like the sugar plantations, but there simply wasn’t enough time.

Jamaica is a lot like Florida as far as the weather is concerned - it was extremely hot and humid, and we were there in November. It’s not anything like Florida as far as the landscape and beaches. It’s amazing to see mountains rising out of this little spit of land in a sea of clear aqua water. The beaches we saw were pristine looking. When we returned home, I immediately began scoping out all inclusive resorts in Jamaica in hopes of returning for our 10th anniversary. (Sadly, with buying a new house and moving, it wasn’t to be!)

Our company had a big shin-dig in Jamaica last year at the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort and my boss was one of the lucky people who got to go. The reports I heard back from the attendees is that the service and resort were fabulous - 5 stars all the way. Maybe work is my ticket to getting back to Jamaica!

Here are the kids at the botanical garden we toured in Ocho Rios:

Here they are on the beach in front of Dunn’s River Falls - love that water!

My kids look so LITTLE! It seems like we just did that cruise a few months ago, in fact, I had myself convinced it was 2006. But it was a whole two years ago and they look so little in these pictures. Where does the time go?

I came across this link to TuneMaster while Stumbling this week, and thought it was too good not to share. If you’ve ever sang your heart out while driving down the interstate, or perhaps into a bottle of shampoo in the shower, this site will test your knowledge of song lyrics. It’s not nearly as tricky as The Singing Bee on NBC since this is all multiple choice. They give you the lyrics, you just have to select which song each set of words belongs with.

I just was stumped on Duran Duran lyrics - I should have known those!

A few years ago, my niece went off to Europe with a group of students from the US to spend a few weeks soaking it all in. To say I was a teeny bit jealous was an understatement - I would have love to have done something like that when I was a teenager! We had an exchange student when I was growing up (from Norway) and it seemed like such a fun concept - going to a foreign country, living with another family as if you were part OF the family, and seeing the sights of your adopted country.

Obviously, I didn’t get my chance to study abroad while I was a student, but I never realized that adults could do the same thing. The NRCSA Study Abroad Programs not only give high school students the chance to see the world, but also university students, teachers, the clergy, law enforcement, and other business professionals. Even families can participate in one of the programs offered by NRCSA. If you’re a nurse, did you know you can go overseas and work in a foreign hospital? What an unbelievable learning experience!

The site allows you to search by program type, country, or language. You may think that your options are somewhat limited if you speak only one language, but for example, I could travel to either France, Monaco, Switzerland, or Quebec to take a program in that particular language, and the site outlines everything available to me for each option. I’m only got 2 years of high school French under my belt, but I’m sure after a few weeks with a family in Paris I’d be parlez vous-ing with the best of ‘em.

I read The Nanny Diaries when it came out a few years ago, and laughed my ass off. I am SO excited about the new movie coming out next month - August 24th to be exact. If you haven’t read the book yet, do yourself a favor and grab it before you see the movie. I plan on reading it again before I see the film. At the site for the movie (linked above) you can see a trailer for the movie (which is quite a bit longer than the snippet I just saw on TV) and get the book, should you not be able to find a copy at your local library. Scarlett Johansson will be playing the main character, Annie Braddock, and Laura Linney is the stick in the ass mom, Mrs. X.

I just love stories about crazy rich people. It’s probably why The Devil Wears Prada is a favorite of mine.

Some of my regular readers have known me for 10 years now, and they knew me when I owned a website for moms. At that time, one of the ways that I promoted the site was by attending trade shows and expos where moms would be in attendance. When I look back now - wow, I was a complete trade show noob, showing up with my folding table and nifty banner and free pens and keychains. Trade show displays have come a long way, baby! I love the nifty 3-D pieces you can hang above your space, and the racks for literature. Sure does free up a lot of table space when you use things like that, which is great when you’re in a tight spot, and you can get items shipped to you same day - personalized even!

Raise your hand if you have one of the t-shirts from my old website!

In honor of my supah hawt dream about Justin Timberlake last night, I’m offering up some old JT, and some new JT for Music Monday.

And for those of you snickering at the mere thought of me hooking up with Justin Timberlake, hey, it could happen! He dated Cameron Diaz for years, and I don’t think she’s all that attractive. It’s not a stretch, right? Right?

I was just having the most delicious dream about Justin Timberlake bringing his sexy back…right up into my bed…

when the alarm went off. ARGH!

I had hooked up with JT and done the deed, and we were making plans the next morning for me to meet him on tour. Why did I have to wake up? Why can’t our dreams have some sort of pause button, so that I can get back to JT’s sexy backside when I go to bed tonight?

What an incredible show we had tonight! I started off by discussing the differences between felching and a blumpkin when Laura called in, and we were soon joined by Marisa. Mr. Fab IM’ed us once he realized we were talking about porn, and Lisa and Courtney finally solved the blumpkin and felching debate once and for all by providing us with definitions from Urban Dictionary.

Retta IM’ed us about PayPerPost and the support ticketing system, and Briliant donkey called in to talk about my restaurant pet peeves. Yes, I know that’s not the correct spelling of brilliant, but who am I to tell this guy how to spell? He’s apparently been stalking me since I appeared on Mr. Fab’s radio show. Deb IM’ed and said hello! Turn Baby shared her thoughts on women and the stereotype that we’re lousy tippers via IM, LaDonna got invited to a party at Laura’s next week.

What’s that? You missed it? Aww nuts! Listen to it here then, and put a post it note on your monitor for next week!

P.S. - Belated link love for Tim, who joined us last week, but I slacked off in remembering him in my wrap up!
