Let me tell you a story about regret.

As you read here earlier in the week, my laptop for work died a slow and painful death on Thursday morning. This is the laptop that contained over 9GB’s of family pictures - 2 years worth, in fact. Most of them had been uploaded to Kodak at one time or another, but I had no way of determining which, and little time to save things. Thanks to a handy IT guy, he was able to remove 95% of my pictures and back them up for me. I came {thisclose} to losing them all though, and THAT is a scary thought.

I’ve preached about what a good idea online backup is in the past, but man, now I’ve learned my lesson. I WILL be backing up my pictures and I will not ever be going through the stress and drama I did on Thursday morning. Obviously, with 9GB’s of pictures, I’ll be over the limit for the free service at IDrive (2GB is free) but I can easily to the unlimited storage for $4.95 a month. If you think you “don’t need this” or “it can’t happen to you” - wrong, wrong, WRONG! I was so thankful to the IT guy for helping me out, that I went to Chipotle and bought him a nice gift card on my break. He could have refused to help me with those pictures, since they weren’t work related, ya know? I was extremely happy that he did!
