It’s June 1st, and that marks the start of a new monthly contest here, and at my other blog, GeekySpeaky. (Be sure to check out the geeky prizes there too!) The good news for you is that you can enter BOTH contests, and even win both, if you’re the lucky person selected at random. Each contest has the same rules and guidelines, but completely different prizes, which will get bigger and better as the months go on, so even if you don’t win this month, come back next month and play again! The contest is open to any resident of any country. More info on that down below in the rules section.
This month we have 2 prizes. The grand prize for June is:
Get all the Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom you need when you win my bootey, matey! You not only get Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl on DVD, but Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man’s Chest on DVD! I’m not responsible for any damage you cause to the DVD by drooling on it.

Leave a comment: If you leave a comment on the contest post each month (FYI, this is the contest post for June) you get ONE entry into the drawing. The comment can’t be a generic “Hi”, or “Nice idea”, or “Pick me”. You’ve got to say WHY you want to win.
Blog it: You don’t need to be a blogger to enter, but read on if you are! If you blog about the contest, and link to the contest post (again, that would be this post right here, but it will change each month) you get THREE entries into the drawing. Just like when you leave a comment, your blog entry should be about why you want to win, it should direct others here to show them how they can win, and it should link to the contest post for that month. In order to submit your blog posting so that I know you get an extra three entries into the drawing, you need to EMAIL the link to me at colleen_ccATyahooDOTcom - please do NOT submit using the blog comments here. If you submit your blog posting via the comments, it will NOT be placed into the drawing. And then you can’t win. And that makes me sad.

Share it: Are you a member of a forum? Well duh, aren’t we all? You’ve got a couple of options here. I’m going to need that week to compile entries and see who is getting their name put into the hat multiple times. I’ll post the winner here by the end of each month, along with a link to the winner(s) blogs, if they have one. The prizes on this blog will be completely random - whatever strikes my fancy - and the prizes on GeekySpeaky will be, well, geeky.

Okay….it’s a good thing Mrs. Fab is an attorney now, so I can have someone to read through all this for me. I’m a simple man, you know!
In all fairness, we have both, and Mrs. Fab drools over them on a regular basis, but I might still enter and give them away if I win.

Ok, I’ve Dugg it. I posted it yesterday and I’m gonna go do a new post here and Myspace. Now, why do I want to win? I just do. I like free stuff and I never really win anything. What a great idea.

I’m not really entering as I have both of these movies and if I did win I’d only hold a contest on my site. lol. Not fair so I guess I’m outta this one. But it’ll be fun to watch. BTW- I posted about this contest anyway yesterday on my contest entry.
Okay, I think I made it through all that. The reason I should win these movies is that as you know I am pregnant and I will be spending the next couple of months stuck at home with a newborn who isn’t going to be allowed to be in the sun or go swimming or any of the fun summer stuff. Sooo I need something to do while I am at home. And what is better than watching movies? And the bonus prize is that Johnny Depp is in them. Who could ask for more.

I Dugg you, and my entry is up on my blog. I don’t need the Pirate DVD’s, but that Cheech and Chong one would be great! I remember listening to my dads 8 TRACKS and laughing my butt off!
Pirates make me drool. Yes, drool. It’s a nice drool, nothing yucky or disgusting. Actually it is kind of sexy, like the pirates I am drooling over. Yum. Pirates! We don’t have enough pirates in our lives, so that is why I should win. Forget the cowbell, I need more Pirates.

Why I want to win? Um.. one person - Johnny Depp!
Okay okay… Orlando and Keira too! And Geoffrey Rush and Bill Nighy as well.
In short (lol), everything about this series holds me enthralled and as a new stay-at-home-mom, I have no life and watching these handsome hunks battle adversity and win each time (which is soo not the case with me and the baby. The baby always wins, dammit!) is the only escape I have. Truly, I really NEED them!
Whoa, man. I used to dig Cheech and Chong back in the day, man. *ffffffffft - inhales deeply* I’m such a golden oldie, I remember listening to those dudes on LPs. I won’t insult your intelligence by explaining what a LP is. My sibs and I used to give each other vinyl records all the time for Xmas and birthdays, and that big square shape was so obviously an LP, but we always used to hold it up, shake it, and say, “Oooh! It’s a mirror!”
My sibs and I were into Cheech and Chong before Cheech went all mainstream on TV and Chong got jailed, before any of us even thought of smoking dope. We didn’t need weed to laugh helplessly at their stoned conversations.
“Dave. Dave! Is Dave there?”
“No, man. Dave’s not here.”

I need to win because (a) I’m a spoiled brat; (b) I don’t have EITHER of these DVDs yet; (c) I know you love me best; and (d) I’m a really loud pouter. Oh, and I’ve also gone to several Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games and have met several of the players, coaches, and announcers. Does that count? PLEEEEAAAAASE?!

Well as much as I like movies, I just never seem to get out and see any. I haven’t seen any of the Pirates moves… heck I have never even seen ET!

I’m a sucker for a contest, well unless the prize is like a year’s supply of some off-brand of hotdog or the deed to a waterlogged lot out in Land O’ Lakes. I’ll skip on those.
A prize that involves Johnny Depp, however, is much much nicer. Jack Sparrow has me so worked up that I even developed a little crush on the guy who did the meet and greet at Princesses & Pirates back in February. I know, I need to get out more.
Count me in. DH is a huge fan of Pirates. In fact, we were a Disneyland the night before the world premier of Pirates 3. It was so exciting! Count me in!

Why should I win your contest? I should win for the following reasons:
1: DD & I are Huge Pirate fans!
2: The Pirate movies would find a good home in our household where they would be loved and taken care of and not look like the poor movies that we check out from our library. I don’t know what those other folks do with the DVDs, but it looks like they let their dogs lick all over the back of them! YUCK! So I’m saying that if I don’t win, I’ll have to check the movies out from my library again.
3: This my first time ever entering on your site, Island Girl sent me here…so I know she’s already got 3 more entries than I do…for now.
4: I almost never win anything and it would really make my day if I did win your contest.

Hi! I want to win Pirates of the Carribean DVD. I wanted to watch the movie but wasn’t able to until now.
Oh, enter me too please! Why? Because, to start with, as Amber says, there’s no such thing as too much Johnny Depp! And Johnny Depp in camp pirate gear? Puhleeeze! And then, when he’s not onscreen, there’s Orlando in those poncy white shirts open at the neck, what red-blooded woman wouldn’t want to win? And I so badly need to have a good fix of ogling hot pirates, you just can’t imagine… Best not to try, in fact. And if that fails, well, the booby prize at least guarantees that I can relive old college days in the comfort and privacy of my comfy DVD-viewing couch. Good reasons? Oh, I do think so.

COOL! what a great contest and I would love to win those items because I love Johnny Depp and I’ve always enjoyed all his movies! So, if I have those DVDs, I could watch it over and over. Actually, I haven’t seen the Dead Man’s Chest, so that will be cool to have! And being a stay at home mom, I hardly got a chance to watch movies in theatre. Having DVD player is a great thing to have to be able to watch a movie at home and would be nice if I can own the Pirates of the Caribbean DVDs…crossing my fingers here and hoping I could win!!!
