This morning was the 5th grade graduation ceremony, so of course Jim and I went over to see it, along with my mom. All of the classes came in and then each class was called up one by one, and all the names of the kids read, and awards given. Catherine won the highest award you can get, which is called the Superindentent’s Award. She got that for having straight A’s ALL YEAR LONG. To say that we’re proud of her would be a huge understatement – we’re over the moon! She’s being taken out for a special lunch by my mom, and Jim and I will get her a gift card (probably to Kohl’s – she’s a girl after my own heart there) to celebrate.
After the awards were handed out, they did a slide show. Man, it was long – 4 songs long. They had to fit all of those 5th graders in! I was my normal hard ass self til the 2nd song came on, which was “My Wish”, from Rascal Flatts. That, along with seeing the pictures of Catherine up on the big screen, and my heart full of pride for her…well, the tears started. I’m not normally a sap, but I guess I’m allowed to get a little sappy every once in a while, right? She’s a great kid!

That precious little pumpser girl!! And, I can’t believe YOU, who didn’t even crack during closing ceremony on the 3 day, actually broke a tear!
“My Wish” is one the first song I used in Sarah and Jay’s wedding slideshow which plays during the “baby years”. It’s beautiful!!
