I’m finally getting my rear in gear about moving the stuff from my old PC to the other laptop. I got the dinosaur in 1999 and stopped using it 2 years ago…I just turned it off one day and stopped. Who knows what’s on there right now – old email, definitely old pictures, and probably a few Mp3s? All stuff worth saving no doubt, especially the pictures of the kids, taken with my first digital camera! I don’t want to move it all to my work computer, and I think the smart thing to do would be to use the IDrive-E Online Backup to store it. The kids don’t really need access to my personal files on their laptop either, ya know?

Here’s what I like about IDrive:

  • 2 GB of free backup space
  • No restrictions on file type
  • No rescrictions on bandwidth limits
  • Automated backups
  • Secure
  • Mapped backup drive access on your PC

If you don’t think 2GB will be enough (and I don’t think it will, for me!) you’ve got the option to upgrade your account for a small monthly fee. For just $4.95 a month you can have UNLIMITED storage space for all of your online “stuff”, and if you sign up for the yearly plan, you get 2 months free.

Now, can they send someone over to my house to network these computers once I get everything backed up??

Thanks! I am just checking out your blog from PPP & I saw this, I was going to start surfing for a site like this. I lost my laptop (hard drive crashed), now I have to pay $400+ to attempt to get the info out of it, so to prevent loss again I want to back everything up that’s on the new puter.
