At times, I get a little delete happy with my files. Just last night I was making a graphic and ended up getting all screwed up - I overwrote one of my Kodak photo files with the graphic I made, and then ended up deleting the last saved version of the graphic in error…by the end of the evening I didn’t know if I was coming or going. Oh - and once I accidentally cleared all of the pictures from my memory card, before I saved them to my computer! I was really upset about that mistake. Dumb mistakes like that are a good example of why everyone can benefit from file recovery software, like Active@ File Recovery.
If you’ve ever experienced the scary blue screen of Windows death, or gotten a nasty virus, or accidentally deleted files you needed, like I did, this software can help you recover ALL of those files. Even ran one of those clean up programs that is guaranteed to remove spyware, and found that it removed good files you needed to keep as well? This software can:
- Recover deleted files or folders from a recycle bin - even AFTER you’ve emptied it!
- If you’ve used shift+delete, you can get those back too!
- Damaged hard disk? Recover those files!
- Virus? Power failure? Spyware? Recover any files damaged or lost.
- Photos you accidentally deleted from your memory card? Yup.
Don’t believe it can do all of that and more? For you skeptics, you can try a demo version to recover a file before you buy the license for the full version. It’s got a limit on the file size you can recover, but it’s enough to try before you buy.

My sister has a hookup (business, not pleasure, LOL!) with one of the guys who works for the Devil Rays here in Tampa, and she had lunch with him today. He’s always giving her great Devil Rays swag for herself, and my son, and today was no different. He gave her something, but we had to promise NOT to eBay it. What did she get?
A pair of the actual pants (washed of course) that #5 Rocco Baldelli wore in a game! They’re embroidered with his name and everything. My sister missed meeting Rocco by a matter of minutes, but her swag supplier said that he’d have an autograph waiting for her next time for her to give to my son, and even took down the correct spelling of Matthew’s name so that Rocco could personalize it. Sweet!

…don’t shove it!
I’ve been crazy busy with work issues for the last month, but I think it’s over (or is it just beginning?) and it worked out well for me. Things happened with other people that made me worry about ME (selfish, aren’t I?) but the end result was very, very good for me, to the tune of a 10% raise. Yes, I got a raise last October, one in January, and another one this week. And you know when a company gives you a raise like that, they like you. They really, really, really like you. Yes, there are added responsibilities that come with that raise, but nothing I can’t handle, so I’m quite thrilled.
Somehow, my bread always lands butter side up. (I don’t eat it though, because it’s been on the floor, and that’s just nasty.)

A few weeks ago, I set my DVR to record the pilot episode of Traveler on ABC. I didn’t even get to watch it until this week, but I really enjoyed it! It’s got the whole conspiracy thing going on, and it made for an interesting episode. Who can you trust, who can’t you trust, the people you’ve lived with for 2 years betray you…anyway…if you missed it, the pilot will be on ABC again tonight, and it’s followed by a new episode.

Do you think in the long term, or the short term? When we moved into our house last year, all we were thinking about was short term, as in, this is what our monthly payment is. We tried (and we still try) to not worry about how much money we’re spending on interest, and how many years (29 to go) it would take to pay off our mortgage. When you get that little sheet at your closing showing you the cost of your loan over 30 years…ay yi yi…you could have bought 10 houses!
I learned about something new called a Money Merge Account that will allow you to pay off your mortgage years in advance by combining your checking and savings account with a home equity line of credit so that you can make regular payments on your principal account. Sounds complicated, right? It’s really not. You’ve probably seen that little box on your mortgage payment coupon that allows you to send in extra money towards your principal, but how many times have you actually done that? Are you disciplined enough to do it on a regular basis? Most of us would say no! By using the Money Merge program, you calculate your money income & expenses and it shows you how much you’ve got left over to pay on your mortgage.
You can get a free MMA analysis, customized for your income, expenses, and mortgage - it’ll show you exactly how quickly you could pay off your mortgage!
I’d love to be able to pay off my mortgage in half the time…wouldn’t you? When I think about all of the money we’re wasting each month in interest, it makes me a little sick!

I can usually kill a plant within a matter of days. I just don’t “get” plants. I get dogs and kids, because they whine or cry when they’re hungry, or thirsty, or sick. Plants just…wilt. Or turn brown. They don’t talk to me to let me know why they’re not thriving!
That’s why I’m amazed that our plants ARE thriving. Everything we planted a few months ago when we did our landscape curbing is alive and doing well. Especially Gracie’s tomato plant! (It’s technically hers, but I seem to be the one watering it these days.) It went from having two teeny tiny little green tomatoes (it always bother me that the plural of tomato has an “E” added to it) to having blooms and more tomatoes all over it!
Here’s the whole plant:
A close up of the reddest tomatoes:
A ton of greenies (it’s a bit like playing Where’s Waldo!):
You couldn’t find them? Try this:
At this rate, we’ll have fresh tomatoes all summer long. Good thing we all love salad! In fact, cucumber and tomato salad is one of my quick summer favorites. Just slice up some cucumbers and tomatoes and toss with Italian dressing, sprinkle on a bit of oregano and basil, and you can even top it with feta or bleu cheese crumbles.

So you’ve got three kids, and two dogs, and your living room furniture has seen better days. Or you’re newlyweds, and your living with hand me down furniture from a cousin with horrible taste. Fear not! You can find great furniture online, from the bedroom furniture you covet, to the home office furniture that you need. This site not only has a great selection, but they offer FREE nationwide shipping. Now, I don’t know about you, but the last time I bought furniture, I had to pay a delivery fee. Yep, I paid $80 on top of the price I just paid for the furniture, so that some guy with a big truck would bring it to my house, 2 months from the date I forked over my money. Not really fair, right? Not only is the delivery FREE at FurnitureFromHome.com, but the price includes set up too! Let someone else heave that heavy dresser up your stairs!
You’ll find leather furniture, formal pieces, and informal pieces. I’m still stuck on that free delivery though - it’s a sweet offer! Wonder what I can find for me??

Tomorrow is the last day of school for my kids! They’re excited of course, but I’m even MORE excited. No more waking up in the morning to drive children to school, and no more afternoon pickups. No more overseeing the homework every afternoon. Yay! Just kids, home all day, watching TV, hogging the Playstation, screaming, fighting, making messes…
Hmm. How long til school starts?

When I was in high school, I lived 1.9 miles from the school. You had to live 2.0 miles away to get bused, so my choices were:
A) Walk .03 miles in the OTHER direction and catch a bus a o’ dark thirty
B) Ride my bike the 1.9 miles to school
C) Walk the 1.9 miles to school
D) Date older boys who had their own vehicles
E) Beg for rides from friends
Well, I can tell you choice A was NOT going to happen. School started at 7:30am, and I am not an early bird. Catching a bus at 6:30am was not in the cards for me. Choice B - hello! Only dorks rode bikes to school, and I was trying desperately to not be classified as a dork. Walking worked for a while, but man, it sucked. Eventually, I clued into the fact that dating older boys and begging from friends was probably my best bet. I’d like to thank my ex-boyfriends Barry Meyers and Andy Espinosa, and friends Jen Hegele, Marleen Applegate, and several others for those rides to school.
Eventually, I turned 16 - this was in my senior year. I had a great idea! Why not get a little scooter? A cute little Vespa was JUST the thing for me. Affordable, safe, cute, fun to drive, cute, fun, and heck, it was cute too! I had the plan all worked out in my head - how I’d pay for it, how I wouldn’t drive it to the mall (too far) but only to school and to visit friends in town and to work. I eagerly presented my plan to my parents, and without even giving it a second thought, they nixed it. For some reason, they saw their sixteen year old driving something a bit more practical. Boring!
I still have a hankering for a motor scooter. Every time we go on vacation and see them for rent (they’re all over in Key West, Nassau, and other tropical beach type locations) I start drooling, and picture myself cruising on a scooter, down the streets, passing by people walking, pointing and laughing, all while looking CUTE!
Think my husband would laugh at me if I said that I wanted a motor scooter, instead of learning how to ride our motorcycle? Yeah, probably.
