Afternoons are a busy time at our house. As soon as the kids get home, the doorbell starts ringing, and it doesn’t stop til I shoo all of the small people away for the evening.
Ding dong. “Can Matthew ride bikes?”
Ding dong. “Is Catherine here?”
Ding dong. “Where’s Gracie?”
Ding dong. “Is Anthony inside?”
(That last one isn’t even MY kid – it takes nerve to ring the doorbell of a house looking for kids who don’t live there…LOL!)
My kids do after-school activities from time to time, so I’m still answering the door even when they’re not at home, and when I’m trying to get some work done, it’s frustrating. I had a brainstorm today – I need a little sign on my door that says “The kids are in” on one side, and “the kids are out” on the other side. No more interruptions, right?
Provided the neighbor children can all read.

hahah I remember doing that. OH man, the days when I had to ask permission to go hang out with my friends.
That’s one of the things I actually miss about our house in Pennsylvania. The kids on the street always hung out at our place, the doorbell would ring, or someone would tap on the window and ask for Dylan. I always kept extra popcicles on hand
