A coworker got a nasty virus on her machine this week and lost a lot of files. Work files, pictures of her kids, emails - everything, gone. Our IT department is going to try to fix things for her, but what if they can’t? What a hassle! Our company provides a shared public drive for us to backup files on, but I can’t exactly put the pictures of my kids there, you know? A far better option is the free online backup available from IDrive. You can store up to 2GB for free - upload MP3s, those photos of your last vacation, videos of the kids, emails, your Quicken files - whatever you think is worth saving.

Adding to the ease of use factor is the fact that your backup appears as a mapped drive on your PC. No long drawn out log in process to access your files - they’re backed up, but still very easy to get to if you need them.
