I have a friend who has a fancy schmancy embroidery machine with those cartridges you buy to create certain designs - animals, letters, shapes - it’s a really neat idea for personalizing clothing for kids, or tote bags, or towels for your guest bathroom. Now, some of the newer embroidery machines don’t force you to buy a cartridge of designs. Instead, you can find designs online that can be put into a digital format to be used by your embroidery machine. With that ability, you can embroider almost anything!
At DesignStitch.com you can order clipart images and receive them via email in CDR, JPG, GIF, EPS, or WMF format. Using CorelDraw 9 or above and the CDR format, you can change the size of the drawings you receive and apply additional tweaks to the images. The site offers classic clipart, custom work, and sets for you to view and order. I looked at a set of a frog in winter (doing various sports) and it was priced at $10 for 10 images - and the clipart was royalty free too. That means that you can use that clipart to make products to sell at craft shows or festivals. You can also alter the clipart you buy, changing colors, or by adding to the design. Love it!
