First Communion is slowly sneaking up on me. I thought it wouldn’t be as much work this time, because it’s my son, and not my daughters doing it – no dress, no veil, no fancy hairdo, right? Well, I still have to buy him a suit, and new shoes, and get his photo done, plan a party, order a cake, send out invites, and buy a gift for him. The church gave us a brochure with religious gifts and a huge selection of rosaries to pick from – it’s just a matter of getting my rear in gear and sitting down to do all of this!
