I love television, so it was only natural for me to make it the theme of this week’s Postie Carnival! If you’re not a postie, it’s easy to become one - just follow the instructions at the bottom of this post. For now - let’s get on with the show!

General TV talk:

Denise of Extra, Extra! is so worn out from blogging that she enjoys mindless TV on the weekends…and I definitely know the feeling.

Suni talks about the TV that rox her sox - you might be surprised to find out what it is, but head on over to You Think You Know Me if you can handle the truth.

Deb over at Surviving NJ shares how TV can bring sadness into our homes, and make us cry over people we didn’t even know.

In that same vein, Pelf shares commercials that make her cry. See the clip posted at Pelf-ism Is Contagious.

Kilroy_60 at Fear and Loathing ponders what would have happened if the Seinfeld cast had been bloggers. Would they have turned a show about nothing into blogs about nothing?

Stephanie shares her thoughts on her kids NOT watching TV at Adventures In The 100 Acre Wood.

Karen of The Pond shares her secret obsession about watching true crime documentaries. Reminds me of when my parents had to stop letting me watch America’s Most Wanted because it gave me nightmares!

Lisa at My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings points out that not all television is bad, and shares what her daughter is learning from children’s programming.

akashic blogs about a show I’ve never heard of - apparently the Daybreak season finale was only available online? I’m sorry I missed it, because the plot sounds like something I’d enjoy! Read more about it over at Wicked Babylon.

Ami-Chan says that her lack of cable doesn’t stop her from being a telly addict. Isn’t she so cute with her Brit slang? According to the list of shows she’s posted at Ami-Chan.net we like a lot of the same shows!

Life without TV? Say it ain’t so! How does Martin of Total Dismay cope?

Blog posts about reality TV:

Julie is a big American Idol fan - so much show that she’s blogging about it weekly. She’s shared a post about the American Idol audition episode she watched and her hopes for the season over at Julie’s Journal.

Lisa the Hippie Spelunker is another American Idol viewer, but she wonders if some people who end up on the auditions are only doing it for 15 minutes of fame

Jennifer is a reality TV junkie, just like me! She dishes her favorite shows up at Footprints On The Moon.

Blog posts about current programming:

Cecile shares her thoughts on Heroes - she likes Hiro and Ando as much as I do! Check out the clip she’s posted on Work At Home Musings.

J.E. is already mourning the end of the television season, and summer reruns. She’s looking for recommendations on shows to watch at Reviews And More. (I hate summer reruns as well!)

Marisa is enjoying her vacation in Hawaii, but she’s missing her Fox News fix! Head on over to My Dandelion Patch and give her an update if you’re a news junkie.

Retta also writes about being emotionally affected by those on TV, but not just real people - the actors in the shows! As someone who has cried during Pampers commercials, I can sympathize with her. Read more at Thoughts Out Of My Head.

Marcus is into a hot show I’ve never watched - 24. His recap of the season premiere of 24 is enough to make me want to get the DVD and get hooked! Read it for yourself at My Thoughts.

TV Memories:

Richard grew up with TV - I’m sure his version of Romper Room was a bit different than mine! He’s got TV he loved for each decade in his post at ShadowScope.

Cecile also updated us as to what happened to that Hanker For a Hunka Cheese guy on Whatever Happened To…. If you watched Saturday Morning cartoons in the 80’s, you know who I’m talking about!

Taking a trip down memory lane with me is Karen - she loves the Andy Griffith show. I miss shows like that, full of happy endings and smiling people.

Kat shares a television meme that includes the first shows she ever watched…or rather, the ones she remembers…and they’re the same as mine. Lots of TV goodness to be found at My Single Mom Life.

DonnaLeigh of Quiet Whisperings grew up with TV like I did, and from the soaps to British sitcoms, her interests are all over the place.

Another person who watched a lot of the same shows I did when growing up is Amy over at Whatever I Feel Like. Game shows, sitcoms, family programming - she talks about how it’s all affected her life in her entry entitled TV N’ Me.

Last, but not least…me! I blogged about my television debut on Romper Room, and even posted a few pictures for your amusement.

Phew! That’s a wrap!

If you’d like to join in the next carnival, it’s easy. Sign up here to be a postie:

[...] The first weekly theme that I am going to talk about is HNT. I had never heard about it until this morning. I was looking through the blog posts that were entered into the Postie Carnival. One of the contributors has a great feature where when you mouse over a link, a small preview pops up. One of her links had a preview that included a naked lady. I was intrigued. It turns out that a popular blogger started a theme called “Half-Nekkid Thursday”. Many of the participants appear to be ALL naked, but all the published pics seem to be PG. [...]
