I usually hit the library every week, and check out a huge stack of books. I wish I had a branch closer to our house though…I was spoiled by having one just a few blocks away in our last home. I try to avoid buying books since I can read them so quickly, but the library is a pain when it comes to getting new releases. There’s usually a waiting list and other people read.so.slow. LOL!

So what’s a girl to do? I want new releases the week they come out, but I don’t want to pay full price for a book I’ll finish in a week. Quite the conundrum. You can see why I was thrilled to learn about a service for books that mimics what Netflix does for movies. It’s called Booksfree, and it’s an online rental service for books. Just like on Netflix, you can make a queue of books you want, and as your books become available, they’re shipped to you. When you finish your books, you mail them back using a postage paid mailer (so no additional shipping costs for you!) and get the next books on your list.

The site has almost 80,000 paperback titles and almost 14,000 audio book titles. The rental plans start at only $8.49 per month to have 2 paperback books at a time. You can’t even buy ONE book for that kind of money. I’d probably do the 4 at a time plan for $13.99 a month because it allows you to get new books while your other books are being shipped back. Media mail isn’t the speediest mail service in the world, so I wouldn’t want to wait for new things to read.

This is a sponsored post. But man, I am soooo signing up!!

Thanks for the link colleen. I’m definetely going to check out this site, as I read a lot as well. And unlike you I do pay for my books so it costs me quite a bit of money each month. The good thing is when I’m finished with them I do give them to a friend, so they are not wasted. Once I join this book club, she will be out of luck. lol
