I was asked to review Feve’s Blog. It’s a blog that upon first glance, seems to be written by a Chinese man, or one might assume that from the avatar shown for Feve. When I read the about me section, I learned that he’s actually an American, of non-Asian descent who just likes China and the Chinese people. (I think using an avatar that looks nothing like you is a tad misleading…but anyway…)

Feve’s girlfriend writes on the blog as well, and goes by the handle Snow White. I realize she’s not a native English speaker, but that’s not what bugs me about her entries – it’s the fact that a lot of what I saw was written in lower case. There are whole entries written in Chinese characters which I just skimmed…I’m not sure if the blog is catering to Americans, or Chinese, or both…but as I only understand English, the Chinese was distracting to me. I really enjoyed the cultural information I could read though – it was interesting to learn about the marriage laws in China and the differences in the cultures as viewed through the eyes of this American writer.

Overall, it’s interesting – I’d visit again. I’d like to see pictures of the happy couple but understand they’re concerned about privacy. In lieu of that, I’m asking for realistic avatars
