I’ve had a lot of comments on an old entry about Flip This House asking when the new show featuring Richard Davis and the Trademark crew will be on. In fact, someone commented on that entry and said the new show, called “The Real Deal” would be starting this weekend.

As far as I know, that is incorrect. I clarified with the person who gave me that info and she said she DID see it in her Tivo guide, but now it no longer appears. I searched my DVR guide through my cable company and didn’t find anything for the new show on TLC either. I also searched the TLC website and found nothing.

I’ve emailed Richard and I’m hoping he can give me some insider info.

Richard and Ginger are not an item – just good chemistry and great friends. Richard is married and the father of 3 boys.

It is listed on our Cable Tlc Channel for Saturday at 8pm. The Real Deal. We have Time Warner Cable. So it’s on in Texas tomorrow Saturday the 21st.

I just saw the first “The Real Deal” on TLC tonight. I have been following their old show and have always enjoyed watching them. I have a request, though. Please change the music during the show. It is too much hard rock music to listen to! (And I like rock music, but not this much while watching the program). It is annoying and I wanted to turn the volume down when the music came on. The old music they used to use was good during the show.
Otherwise, the show was great and interesting as always.

I was very disappointed with the show. Are Richard and Ginger having an affair? The show did not have the same magic.

Ryan on 23 April, 2007 at 11:14 pm #

I just watched the first episode tonight, and it was very good. I also feel more in love with Ginger.

I was very pleased with the new show and excited to see future ones. They are right on the money.Good music, good people. I would not change a thing. They are the ones making the big bucks….

Dear Trademark Group,
I still love the show, I do agree that the music is much too louf and I miss the rest of the Trademark group. Where’s Vance, Kevin, Dawn and the rest of the team. I do like Ginger but I thought this was about all of the Trademark Team. Some o;ff the characters like the “Garden Ho” are sorely missed and needed to keep the charm of the show. Aslo what happened to John. Please bring them all back or else this will just become the Ginger show. i

What’s up with Ginger? She looks different. Plastic surgery?

DJ on 13 May, 2007 at 12:38 am #

Geez… its the Ginger in tacky clothing and high heels show… good god and why is she carrying that stupid dog around all the time??? Can you say Paris hilton from the sticks?

I’m a little bit disappointed so far with the episodes…

Seems like a little too much fluff, instead of the
focus-on-construction balls-out all-powerful Richard
Davis that I saw before…

For example, the old episodes portrayed Trademark
as mostly a builder/rehabber, and these episodes show
it more like a realtor sales office…

The intro to the show, with the voiceover from the other
guy… dont like it. The old one where Richard was talking,
and he just said it like it is… much more powerful…
riding the helicopter… that was great.

Plus the theme music… I hate to say it, but the Flip This
House tune was better. More energy.

The episode with Ginger talking for half the show about
how much Richard has done for her and she doesnt
want to let him down… still trying to figure all that out.
It made it seem like this was the first house Ginger did,
and I clearly remember old episodes where Ginger
tackeled projects by herself.

All that stroking Richards ego in the episode… just not
sure what that was about… and all the stuff about
Richard taking the kids to the game… We know
Richard is a good guy, and wants to “give back”…
but again… too much fluff.

The $40M condo conversion episode… yes, it was a
big dollar deal… but again, this was about a real estate
office, and about marketing… not about the construction
flipping that we want to see… they rehabbed one unit
on the episode. If you wanted to show the grand nature
of this project, I would have loved to see how you figured
out the pricing for the units, how did you decided the
upgrade packages, what did the other units look like, etc.
The nitty gritty…

I guess the bottom line is, I personally anyway, would
like to see some hard core construction projects… see
the hole-in-the-wall house turned from a roach infested
nighmare, to something beautiful… let’s see the hard
numbers, the actual sales figures and costs, and
take us for a great ride as these before/after shows
have always done.

Aw-leave Ginger alone. She’s cool and I think she has learned a lot and is applying her experience and knowledge. As a woman, I get annoyed by stupid dizy actresses, etc, but she is not like those people from what I can see. Plus, if she was ugly, I bet you all would not mention her…and come on, no need to start the affair rumor. I don;t see it at all.
Anyway, I am so glad to see Trademark back in action, but I even like this new show be tter!
They are a cool group of people and I think that after they satrted the Flip this House show, the companies that followed were only in it for the fame-very egotistical, I thought. .
Go Trademark and enjoy your much deserved success!

Love the show. When will the Philadelphia Franchise rollout come about. I am a marketer, entrepreneur and Real Estate agent. Richards vision has all the elements of my life and career. Would Love to Work for Richard some day. I could learn alot from him.

Ginger is intolerable! The only reason that I can believe she is suc a major piece of the Trademark team is that she is sleeping with Richard. I loved the old show, I agree with many of your postings, the rest of the people in the Trademark Team need to be brought back. Where is Kevin!?!? Was Richard threatened by Kevin and his more “masculine” look and energy? Did he have to do away with him in order to maintain his feelings of supremacy. As others of you have pointed out, all the ego stroking leads me to believe that yes, Richard did feel insecure and needed to forcibly secure his position in the company as top-dog by getting rid of Kevin. Anyway, who ever knew that I would care so much about a TV show about a bunch of people I’ll never met?!? Never the less, I had to speak my piece, and I’m not trying to hate on Ginger or Richard, it’s just the way they all come across through the edit process, I’m sure.

Dear Richard,
Did I hear you say, something about buying into your franchise ,on the last episode?

I have been looking on the web ,and havent found this information as of yet.

Will this be offered to the public?

Richard is my hero,I wish I lived in charlston, and could be part of the trademark team.Sincerly, Carol Bailey

I agree about the Real Deal, too much marketing and sales, get back to the basics that made the show a hit, and put “Poor Richard” back into the drivers seat. The last time I checked, the Real Deal had only 4 episodes in 2007. When is the show scheduled to start up again, in the 4th quarter of 2007 or the 1st quarter of 2008? I know Richard is in a battle over the name Flip this House and a previous blog mentioned that his name was on the credits of the Flip this House (replacement shows), but I haven’t seen his name yet. The producers are trying so hard to do the things Richard has done, but these “suits” have no idea about the show other than production, and when its time for their hands to get in the dirt they are far gone; can not be found! Hope to hear or see if the show will continue, and at what name because the title Real Deal is a bit weak. As one reader said, get back with those holes in the wall, mice in the basement, and especially the rats in suits in Hollywood California!

Their new show is called “The Real Estate Pros”. I believe the typical airtime is 9:00 pm on Saturdays, but you can check your guide. There are also re-runs that come on from time to time on the same channel.

I have not been able to find richards new show on TLC so I have been watching really old episodes on A&E. Someone needs to tell this guy you have a lot of fans and give us more episodes. What is going on is he fighting with TLC now and is that why I can not find the show?
