Tonight when I got home with my new haircut, my middle child, who is normally a very sweet, very “attached to Mommy” little girl, made a not so nice remark about it…she was teasing, but I still let her know it wasn’t nice. I was surprised when I came to my computer later and found a sealed envelope sitting on of my keyboard – and the envelope had a little “kiss” on it (I guess she used her play makeup to do that!)
Anyway, here’s the note, complete with her horrible spelling:
Dear Mommy,
I’m sorry that I said “your hair was hidous”!! After that I went up to my room and thought about it and now I think you are beatiful with it like that. I said that because at first I thought that it look weird. And bad but now it is like the ugly ducking growing into a swan!! So I hope you acept my apologs.
Love: Grace
To: Mommy
I ask you – who could resist a note like that?

Aw, that is so sweet! You’re such a cute little swan too! lol
I’m cracking up that Grace even said that in the first place!!! LOL! Nice note, though.
That is so sweet!! I’m glad she realized her error. It sounds like she didn’t really want to offend you in any way!
How sweet is that? Did you cry? I would have!
That is SO sweet!!!
Totally adorable and precious that she would go to all that trouble – what a wonderful child!!!
[...] Colleen asserts that I am a Swan at Simple Kind of Life, and it’s true: she really is. [...]
What a sweetheart!
Visiting via the carnival and I got a good laugh. That note is great! I’d keep it for the good stuff file if I was you. Someday she will be so embarassed that she wrote that!
Oh, I love stuff like this! I’ve kept many such momentos from my son’s younger years and I treasure them all. What a sweet and thoughtful child you’re raising!
Great story! And very sweet!
Cute story Colleen! I think your new-do looks great btw.
When did you discover that she had used your lipstick? LOL

Great story! You’ll have to keep that for when she’s older.
