I got an email from Owen this morning letting me know that he tagged me in a meme he did. It’s been a while since I did one, so here goes - 5 things you probably don’t know about me:

My mother wanted to name me either Colleen or Megan. She decided against Megan, thinking it was becoming too used. She was right, because I’ve met a ton of Megans in my life, and very few Colleens. She also wanted a name that people couldn’t shorten into a nickname. This worked until recently, when people started calling me “Coll”. My father was convinced I’d be a boy, and my name would be Bradley. Thank god, better chromosones prevailed!

I have scoliosis, and didn’t discover this until I was 29 years old. I make an S-curve look sexy though!

I skipped the 7th grade. I attended 6th grade in a private school and did 7th grade work, so when the new school year came, my mom put me into 8th grade in public school. Because of that, I graduated from high school when I was 16. You’d think I would have been an excellent student in high school, but alas, I am lazy, and didn’t “work to my full potential”. I actually almost didn’t graduate because I skipped SO many classes in the last month of my senior year. It all came down to one final Honors English class.

I have (somewhat) perfect pitch. After hearing a song, I can sit down at the keyboard and play a reasonable variation of it. My piano teacher was thrilled when she discovered this, hoping to have the next piano prodigy on her hands. Once again, my laziness prevailed.

I’m left handed and double jointed. Fuh-reaky!
