I guess I should make some resolutions for 2007, but I’m not feeling very motivated to do so. I never keep them anyway. We’re having a low-key NYE here since we’re leaving for vacation tomorrow morning. Don’t need to be all hungover with a long drive looming ahead of us. I’m not even going to cook - we’re going to Ruby Tuesday for dinner.

Maybe we should have planned a trip to Boise to see snow? The Miami football players there this week for the big bowl game experienced temps as low as 25 degrees. Not quite the same as what they’re used to, coming from sunny Florida, huh? I would imagine that’s just the kind of thing that could give the boys from Boise the edge they need in the MPC Computers Bowl. And while I was searching on news about the Bowl, I came across several websites all about Boise - including this one featuring Boise homes. Hey, Idaho named a town after us - that was awfully nice of them. I’m guessing that the market in Boise is quite a bit different from what we’re used to here in the Tampa, FL area. For example, on that website, it shows:
Boise Featured Homes:
Luxury homes in Boise, Idaho (homes priced over $300,000)
Boise homes under $200,000 (homes priced under $200,000)
$300K isn’t a luxury home in this area, so I had to go peek and see what you get for the money. (Hey, isn’t that a show on HGTV?) This house is a little small, but wow - that view is amazing. You can’t find anything like that in Florida. I guess that’s why Boise is getting to be one of the hot places people are moving to. You never heard about bad things happening in Boise either - I guess that’s how they got to be such a hit with businesses and families. The city has received tons of award for being so pro-business too. And bonus - Boise is only minutes away from tons of skiing. Heck, if it weren’t for all the darn snow, I’d move there.

I saw this Superhero quiz on Amy’s blog and was hoping I’d get to be Wonder Woman, but alas, I’m Peter Parker in red tights. I think it was my super spidey senses that put me over the edge. I’d much rather have an invisible jet than webs coming out of my wrist.
Your results:
You are Spider-Man

You are intelligent, witty, a bit geeky and have great power and responsibility. ![]() |

The kids and I ended up making a run to the mall tonight. We had a nice dinner out and spent some time in Old Navy getting the kids clothes for our trip, and then headed to Target, where the kids used every single giftcard they got for Christmas. Now that we’re home, I’m attempting to get some packing done and catching up on laundry. Don’t be jealous of my wild Saturday nights!

Not the registered nursing kind…the breastfeeding kind! It’s been a long time since I breastfed any little ones - almost 7 years now, but I miss it somedays. There’s nothing nicer than snuggling with your baby and getting that downtime in. I still have friends who are having babies and I always give them my breastfeeding tips, one of which is, if you’re going to get a pump, get a decent one. I tried the handheld one the hospital sent me home with, and a battery operated handheld, and both were horrid. I finally borrowed a Medela Pump In Style from a friend, and that sucker (ha, pun intended!) was truly the Rolls Royce of breast pumps. New and nursing moms should definitely check out breast pump reviews before buying one. Your local La Leche League may even be able to hook you up with a local retailer that you can rent a heavy duty pump from, instead of buying one.

Despite me telling people to buy the new U2 CD for my daughter for her birthday, she didn’t get it. Bummer, because Mommy would have immediately borrowed it to put on her iPod…LOL! She’s got quite a few giftcards for Target, so I’m hoping she’ll buy the CD with one of those and I’ll still be able to borrow it. She’s never been to see U2 in concert, but maybe the next time they tour, we’ll surprise her with U2 tickets. I’ve been to see them 3 times with Jim and they just get better every time.

It’s 19 minutes after 10pm, which means it’s 6am in Iraq, and Saddam Hussein is dead. Hanging was too good for that monster. He should have been tortured like the people he ruled over and had killed.
That’s saying a lot coming from me, because I’m against the death penalty.

Tonight is a Mommy night. The kids are going to bed shortly, and I’m settling in and playing Grand Theft Auto for a few hours. I need time to work on my street cred and my sex appeal. It’s hard to be a gansta, but I’m trying. At least I’m not falling off the bike anymore, but I’ve crashed my share of cars.

We’ve had houseguests a few times since we’ve moved into our new place, but we’ve never had a whole family here like we did with Sindy and Jeff this week. It was amazing that all the kids got along with minimal fighting. Of course, all of the adults got along too. And you’ve gotta love a houseguest who replaces the laundry detergent she used with a brand new, bigger container, and leaves you a box of Bounce too. LOL!

We have the seasonal annual passes. Perfect for us since it’s cheaper than a regular season pass, due to having blackout dates at Easter, in the summer, and right around Christmas. But after a horribly hot trip there in the summer of 2001, I never want to go back to Disney again in the summer, so I don’t mind the blackout dates! You have to be a Florida resident, like me, to get the seasonal annual pass, so if you don’t live in the Sunshine state, check into Disney World tickets online. By shopping around you can sometimes find package deals that are actually cheaper than buying a park hopper pass or one day ticket directly from Disney! OrlandoFunTickets.com also sells tickets to all the Orlando area dinner shows, like Arabian Nights, Medieval Times, and Pirates Dinner Adventure. They can hook you up with Sea World & Universal Studios tickets also!
