Friends of ours are thinking about paying a pro to install laminate flooring in their house, and we’re trying to convince them to save their money and do it on their own. After all, if we can do it in a day, ANYONE can do it. The hardest thing is getting started. Those first few rows will want to slide around until there’s enough rows to weigh down the laminate. Once the boys got going, they found it was easy, and it helped that we were doing one huge area consisting of a living room, dining room, kitchen, hall, and family room. Lots of long straight rows! Like any flooring, there are laminate flooring pros and cons. For us, it was a really cost effective way to change the look of our other house. For around $1000, we did the whole thing in a weekend, and it completely changed the style. We absolutely loved the end result.
