There’s been a lot of discussion lately about me on the bast way to increase the link popularity on your website. A lot of people don’t understand how Google works, or why pagerank is importnant. Google has a seriously complex algorithm they use to drive their results, and not many understand it or how to use it to their advantage. Page rank, or PR is the score assigned to a website by Google to show the popularity of your website. The scores for page rank (also sometimes referred to as pagerank) range from 0 to 10. Mine is a 4, which is not too shabby for a personal blog.

Google also looks at how many links are pointing to your website from others. If you can get other sites to link to yours, your pagerank will increase. The main methods to increase link popularity are press releases, purchaising links, reciprocal linking, and link baiting. Press release distribution is tricky – the content needs to be interesting enough to cause someone to write about it. Link brokers can sell you cost effective links, but they may not be of the best quality. Trading links, aka reciprocal linking is great if you can get someone to link you from their main page, with content, or a blurb about your site. Being linked 3 pages deep in a page full of links isn’t much of a help.

One reason that sites like Blogitive were created is to allow websites to increase link popularity through blogs. Receiving one link from one blog won’t help, but receiving hundreds of links from blogs, posting about YOUR site, will! Through services like this you can submit a press release to bloggers and they’ll write about your website with your keywords and phrases. Please visit Blogitive.com to learn more about this service and how you can finally achieve the top search engine rankings that you never thought was possible.

Actually, it does help to push the PageRank when there are more backlinks to the site :-)
