Leave it to a few bad apples to spoil the wedding contest fun for all. Oh, did I not mention one of the bad apples was a potential groom? He posted this on a forum he belongs to asking for votes:
Anyhow, they are big into viral marketing there, and decided to sponsor a wedding to a lucky couple that they will stream online. Corrin thought we’d be perfect, so she submitted our story. We got accepted and made the final 3. Our competition is some couple with a sob story about being in a coma or something, and some chick in her mid 30s who is already on her second wedding.
Corrin and I should win because we are young and not ugly, we’ve been together for 4 years, we currently live 3 hours apart, and Corrin was my first kiss. (Seriously.)

Ya know, I almost wish I had voted for you, Mike, so I could take away my vote and give it to someone else. God forbid someone “ugly” win. Or someone who had to get through a first marriage to find the love of their life. Or someone who actually had a life threatening illness. Don’t mind me - I’m 30 and old and bitter. And I’m furious about how you’ve treated the other contestants in this contest. You took something really nice and trashed everyone participating, and for that, you don’t deserve to win. Shame on you.

I want to be the first to tell you that Julie is not called “Hot Julie” around here for no reason .. and the other couple, (Jamey & Lauren), very cute .. Mike and Corrin on the other hand … what makes a person ugly? their skin or their soul.

Michael and Julie’s story won me over. It was between them and Jamey & Lauren. I guess their story had me at “Just watch Serendipity”. My daughter said she would vote for Julia and Michael, too if she could.
Maybe if they don’t win, the posties could donate for the cause. Or if they do win…
Sigh. I just went over *there* and read that whole thread. His whole attitude stunk from teh beginning. “They are mostly stay-at-home-moms over there, so be nice” or whatever. As if it was a bad thing to have a sense of decency? or the two are even dependent on one another? I know lots of decent people who aren’t SAHMs. And soccer mom. What’sup with that junk?
Anyway. Sigh again. Thank you for stepping up for me today. I was really lost there for a bit. I’m like the rest of us in that I really like the camaraderie we’ve built there,and I feel “safe” there.
yeah, i didn’t think their story was worthwhile, anyways. it pretty much sucked. what a dickhead; i hope they LOSE.
I was impressed that they were publicizing their bid to have PPP pay for their wedding. Until I read the part where he was tasteless and a complete fool.
I must admit that despite everything that happened, in everything I’ve read Corrine has been kind and good about the entire situation. From what I remember she was respectful and I think she had no clue what her boy toy had done.
I feel bad about what happened, especially since Corrin is my friend. Jules has always been sweet to me and you and I have had some nice conversations back and forth too. I am not trying to come over and cause trouble. I truly like and enjoy everyone. I just want to give some perspective on the other side…
She honestly feels HORRIBLE about what happened and what was said by Mike, and had no idea he did it until after the fact. She has cried, apologized, and feels ashamed and embarrassed. Some of you guys might say you are glad and that she deserves it. Can you imagine if it was just you against everyone on the site? While what he did and said was wrong, wrong wrong… I feel like a lot of people have not taken the higher road and have lashed out at them too.
I think it will be wonderful if/when Jules wins, and I personally will be very happy for her. I just hope everyone has it in their heart to forgive Corrin and Mike, because despite what you have seen they are really nice people and everyone makes mistakes and does things that they regret and are not proud of.
I have nothing against Corrin. You’ll notice I left her out of the post above. However, I think her husband to be should be the one apologizing, not Corrin. On his blog he posted he was being “sarcastic” in his comments, which just goes to prove he’s really not all that sorry, and he’s letting Corrin take the rap for his bad behavior.
