So I’ve been thinking more about our lack of home security…we get people at the door ALL day long.  The gates of the community have to be open during the day for the people working on the homes to get in, and all sorts of unwanted visitors use that as an invitation to come in and try to sell us lawn care, pest control, or meat off their truck.  I found a security system that even Jim could install.  LaserShield plugs into an existing phone jack (we’ve got plenty of those!) and the entire system  is portable, so if we did move, we could take it with us.  Since one system covers up to 1200 square feet, we could expand to a 2nd system for the upstairs, and link them.  It also includes a keychain alarm to enable  or disable the system, along with a panic button.  And it’s not a cheapy system either - it even has infrared detection.  Very, very cool!
