I read an article online recently about proposed HGH testing in football.  For the most part, the NFL has escaped the steroids scandal that has dogged Major League Baseball.  I’m a but confused on how HGH use could even come close to steroid use – the two are nothing alike.  As far as I’m aware, no major studies have been done on the affect of Sytropin HGH (Human Growth Hormone) in athletes, but I did find out infomation on one test case involving cyclist Stuart Stevens.  His performace dramatically increased, but he was NOT only taking HGH, he was taking steroids and other performance boosters.  That’s not really much of a test.  However, Stevens did report that the HGH caused him to have perfect vision, and once he discontinued the drug, he had to wear glasses again.  That alone makes me want to give it a try!  Because growth hormone is produced naturally in your body, developing a test for it to detect use in athletes would be darned near impossible.
