Tonight we’re off to a softball game for my oldest.  She had her 1st game last week when I was out of town for my walk, and I haven’t been to any of her practices.  (They’re always on nights when I have to play taxi for another child, so Jim or my mom usually take her).  We’re all going as a family, and I’m hoping her team pulls off a win this time!  The softball season goes until mid-November, and the schedule is pretty heavy, with a game every 2 or 3 days.  She’s not the most athletic child (she gets that from me!), and this is the first team sport she’s ever attempted, so we’re proud of her for sticking with it and giving it her best.  Playing for the team has been a great bonding opp for Catherine and her dad also.  They take time out a few times a week to practice her catching and hitting.  Since she’s entering those pre-teen years when all parents suck, it’s nice to know she still enjoys being with us from time to time!
