And yes, I’m talking about Christmas. The man and I were talking about the holiday the other night on our walk - how would we decorate the house this year (we’ve never had a 2 story before, so putting up lights should be interesting) to where we should put the tree. Every year, we get a real tree, and every year, I kick myself. I love the smell of a fresh cut tree, but once it starts dropping needles, and I have to clean around the tree daily, I’m pretty over it. When I was a kid, apparently my parents got sick of a real tree too, because we got a huge artificial Christmas tree. That thing had to be at least 5 feet across, and until you got close, it looked real. Sure, you lose the fresh cut tree smell, but you could always burn some pine scented candles to get that back. We’ll probably still do a real tree for our main tree this year, but I would love to get a smaller fake Christmas tree to put on display somewhere else in the house, and display only my Disney ornaments on it. I’ve always wanted to do that, and I finally have enough Disney ornaments to cover a small tree. Catherine has a fake Christmas tree for her room also - her godfather (and uncle) gave it to her with each of the Hallmark Godchild ornaments from the year she was born. That will go on display upstairs somewhere.
