Last night as Catherine and I drove to dinner with friends, we passed a horrible accident involving a motorcycle and a car. It had literally happened just moments before we came to the intersection, and we had to drive within 10 feet of the wreckage. We saw the victims receiving CPR and I told Catherine to say a prayer…
This morning I read in the paper that the couple on the bike died. I knew it probably wasn’t a good outcome when we came home from dinner 2 hours later - the highway patrol was still there, as was the bike, the car, and I caught a glimpse of a body bag. I told Catherine to cover her eyes.
I didn’t know them, but I can’t get it out of my head - I’m terribly sad for their family and friends, but also a little happy we were in the right place at the right time - we could have seen it unfold before our eyes, or we could have been the ones hit.

It’s awful seeing accidents like that isn’t it? On our way to Jacksonville yesterday we saw 3 major car crashes on 75. It gets you thinking doesn’t it?
How horrible - I heard about the crash this morning on the radio.
How awful.. I am sorry you and Catherine had to see that. When I was up at school.. (in the mountains of N. Ga) there were so many bike accidents.. it is awful.
