Moving is HARD dude. Today was Day 2 of the yard sale. We ended up selling some big ticket stuff and we’re pretty pleased with our 2 day total. Everything left over was dropped off at the Salvation Army. Over the next 7 months, while we’re living in the rental, I AM going to continue to prune through our “stuff”. Pinkie swear!!
It’s been a week (almost) since we started packing and moving, but if you really add the time up, it was 3 days. We worked at our jobs everyday and moved things at night. I am still amazed we got it all done by today. Our old house is empty, and CLEAN! The kids were huge helpers with the cleaning and the yard sale. Catherine vacuumed all the bedrooms and the cabinets out (had some spare Cheerios in a few cupboards) while the other 2 kids helped pack and unpack today. They’ve been troopers. I hate to do this again to them in 7 months, but again, the next move will be MUCH more organized and not rushed. Jim paid me a huge compliment for all the ass bustin’ I’ve done in the past week by saying he knows a lot of women who wouldn’t have done HALF of the work I did, and they would have bitched a lot more. GO ME!
Closing is Monday afternoon. I’m going to miss our little house but I’m not that attached to the place - just the memories. Buying that house was one of the best things we ever did - the value went up enough it enabled us to be able to build our new place. :::pats self on back for convincing Jim to buy it:::
In other news - my mom got a letter in the mail from the builder saying her permits were in and construction would be starting soon. That means we’re next!
You’re movin’ on up, babe! And your next move will likely be the last for the kids for a long time. Glad to hear you’re almost done with everything. Fingers crossed that the closing goes smoothly.
Well we’re movin’ on up - to the east side. To a deluxe apartment - in the skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
