K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!

I bitched at Kristin on her blog for not mentioning me - she has MORE than made up for it and redeemed herself. Go see!

But for the most part, the big blog conversion of 2005 is complete. CJ was nice enough to completely switch me off PMachine to WordPress. Without money being exchanged - bonus! She made the whole process painless…and with a smile on her face. What more can I ask for??

We’re leaving on our cruise to Nassau and CocoCay in just 2 more days. I can’t wait! With 8 other people going with us, we’re going to have a blast. So far, the situation in the tropics looks cool - nothing brewing out there to ruin our fun.

I’ll think of all of you as I lay on the desk sipping oozy boozy!

Is this thing on? I haven’t blogged in days it seems. How come when I can’t blog, I think of all sorts of witty crap to share? When I can blog, I’ve got blogger block.

I let the kids read in bed tonight for a bit before it was lights out. I went into the boys room later to turn his light off and cracked up at his reading selection. He chose a children’s dictionary that used to be mine. Granted, the dictionary is illustrated, but still! I remember doing the SAME thing, albeit I was a bit older than he is now. When I was in elementary school my favorite books children’s encyclopedias. I had this Charlie Brown/Snoopy encyclopedia series, maybe 12 books total? I LOVED THEM! When I was in middle school my father got me a book called The Readers Digest Book of Facts. I can still sit down with that book and read through it for hours. It’s on the shelf in the boys room waiting for him to grow into it.

And I wonder why people hate to play Trivial Pursuit with me?

This weekend we went WAY the hell out to Valrico to look at models for our builder. The house my mom is building has a model out there, and she just had to see it again. Jim and I tagged along to see the other models and compare cabinets and flooring. It’s nice to see it in a “real” house versus the little sample at the design center.

We also went poking around in a framed floorplan of our house. The last time we were there, it was all framed, but the stairs weren’t done, so I only saw the downstairs. This time we got to go upstairs. I love it! It was really cool to see something we’ve only seen on paper. We’ve decided who is getting which room and where we are putting recessed lighting in, and all sorts of things.

After that, we drove to our subdivision and showed Jim the lot, since he hadn’t seen it in person yet (click to see the larger version of the pics):

Yeah, it’s still dirt! The county is so backed up on permits, we won’t get ours for at least 2 months, if not longer.

It’s done!! Come May, I’ll be moving into a NEW HOME!!!! We go to the design studio in the next month or so, and then have a pre-construction meeting in about 2 months (which is how long it takes to get the permit) so nothing will change on our little spot of dirt til around Thanksgiving at least I think. My moms house will be 2 months ahead of ours. (She is buying an inventory home which had permitting started already, but construction did not start)

WHOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I met one of my YMCA goals last night. I was finally able to leg press more than my weight. GO ME!! I haven’t worked out in a week so I hope I’m not in pain tomorrow. It felt good to get back to the gym though. Jim and I met my sister there and the three of us worked out together. After she left, I watched Jim do some free weights. He had me spot him - fat lotta help I’d be if he dropped the weight! HA!

A community we were on the waiting list for called me Sunday morning. We had already looked at the models months ago, so after a few phone calls back and forth with Jim and my mother (who is moving wherever we go) and a trip to look at the open lots, we ended up putting down a $1000 deposit to hold our lot.

This morning I gave the sales rep our list of structural options. She’ll prepare the contract and we’ll sign off on it, and give her the rest of our deposit on Wednesday. If all goes well, our house will be done in May. My mom’s house will be next door and they had already pre-permitted for her model on that lot, so her house will be done 1-2 months earlier.

Here is our dirt. And a view from the back of our lot into the conservation area:

(Otherwise known as blogging while intoxicated)

Yep, 2 Saturday nights in a row with a kick ass buzz! This time a week ago I was having a lot more fun though, at Laura’s wedding. And having the first motorcycle ride of my life. And drinking red bull and raspberry vodka. And licking spilled shots off people’s arms. (Ok, ok, just ONE PERSONS ARM.) And having a spilled shot licked off my leg.

I can make anybody pretty.
I can make you believe any lie.
I can make you pick a fight with somebody twice your size.
Well, I ‘ve been known to cause a few break-ups,
An’ I’ve been known to cause a few births.
Well, I can make you new friends, or get you fired from work.

And since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg an’ Bordeaux, France,
Been making the bars lots of big money,
An’ helpin’ white people dance.
I got you in trouble in High School,
But College, now that was a ball.
You had some of the best times you ll never remember with me:
Alcohol; Alcohol.

I got blamed at your wedding reception,
For your best man’s embarrassing speech.
And also for those naked pictures of you at the beach.
I ‘ve influenced Kings and world leaders,
I helped Hemingway write like he did.
And I’ll bet you a drink or two, that I can make you put that lampshade on your head.

Cause since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg and Bordeaux, France,
I been making a fool out of folks just like you,
An’ helping white people dance.
I am medicine and I am poison,
I can help you up or make you fall.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol.
