Jim made appointments for the dogs to go to the vet in August today when he refilled our lab’s prescription. They’re getting up to date on all their shots and getting dentals - roughly $550 total. Oy vey! Plus Lola *may* need blood work if she needs pain meds after the dental (she’s got a bad tooth that we think we be removed). The bloodwork costs $80. So…roughly $600, $630? Or $300 per dog.
Works out to $3.75 per pound for the lab and $23 for Lola. The price of love!! My kids only cost $20 a check up, but then again, they talk back….ha!

Lola needed all three of her eye meds replaced (she has dry eye) and we bought our lab some doggie downers. Yes, our dog is going on the canine equivalent of Paxil. The older she gets, the more storms and loud noises (like fireworks) bother her. Since storms are a way of life in this state, we’re going to do a trial run on the meds to see if they help her out during those times. […]
