I withdrew my children from their Catholic school this week. Other than preschool, it’s the only school they’ve ever attended, but unfortunately, the cost has gone up more than our incomes. We can still afford it at this point, but we’ve got a bit of sticker shock over the total this year and would rather move the kids when they’re still younger, instead of say, when our oldest hits middle school.
It’s going to be a switch for sure. No more waking my kids at 6am to get out of the house by 7am - the new school doesn’t even START til 9:30. No more trekking completely out of our way after work to pick them up - the new school is right around the corner from our house. I’m hoping they meet some more kids in the area too. In the 18 months we’ve lived in our house, we’ve only met 3 families close enough for the kiddos to play with. One of the kids is a heathen so it’s actually more like 2 families.
It’s going to be a bit switch for sure, but I’m really proud of my kids. They’re adapting to the change already and looking for the positives in going to a new school and they’re excited about the change.
