I know that when I park my truck, the lights will go off automatically. I know it. It happens every time, without fail.

Matthew asked who was the first person to step on earth. I said “I think Adam.” (Going with whatever the priest would have said!)

“Well, how did he step on earth?” I said God put him there.

He followed that up, with “When a person is inside a stomach do they know it? And are their eyes open?”

(I guess he’s talking about a baby inside a womb? What a kid!)

My local group meetup went smashing and everyone seemed normal. Phew! Dinner at Chili’s turned into a 4 hour event, so I’m taking that as a good sign :-)

I finally was able to get a Michael’s coupon for framing. I called the store first this time to make sure SOMEONE was there to help me with a framing order (trying to avoid last weeks issues!)

I’m framing 4 pieces of the kids artwork. I got a quote for the biggest, which is 24 inches by about 14 inches. Picked out the cheapest black frame…plain matting. With the 50% off coupon, it was still gonna be $150!! Holy shiznit.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to fit them in a standard frame so I don’t know what the heck to do now.

I’m meeting up with some ladies from the local group I started last month. It’s our first official meeting, and I can’t help but be a little nervous. Like it says over there —>

There’s no middle ground here - you either love me or you hate me.

So I’ll either come out of this with new people who adore me or people who email each other secretly the next day saying, “Man, what a crazy bitch she is!”.

Heh.

At any rate, I get dinner out without the family, and margaritas, so it’s win-win.

Last night I did something for the first time in 9 months…went out after work with co-workers! One of the admin assistants organized a little dinner for us to visit with our former receptionist, and we all met at The Green Iguana. I was a little shy at first (yeah, I know, me, SHY?) but it’s hard to be the new girl (even after 9 months!) with people who have worked together for years.

Once the beer started flowing (imagine that) I did say something to that effect - that I used to do this all the time with my old co workers and missed it. And one of them said our office is just weird…there’s no comraderie! Silly people.

Anyway, I had a delish crab cake appetizer and a big caesar salad and some Coors Light. Yummay!

My mom sent me this after watching the kids yesterday - apparently Matthew had a lot on his mind!

Matthew: When you marry do you have to kiss ?
My mom: Well….yes.
Matthew: When you marry do you have to kiss ? Do you mean on the lips? Yeah well I don’t like to do that.
My mom: Why? You kiss me and Mommy and Daddy on the lips.
Matthew: You don’t hardly wear lipstick and Mommy doesn’t have it on too much in the morning and boys don’t wear lipstick.
My mom: It ‘ll be ok - you can kiss on the cheek if there’s too much lipstick.

She was also talking to the girls in the car about choir, and Matthew said he would never be in the choir because he didn’t sing very good and would be “‘barrassed.”

So last month, we started getting notices to our house for overdue books at the library in town. The notices were for a different name though - Robert Clingerman - and for a branch Jim and I don’t go to. My first thought was how in the hell did some loser open an account in MY name when you have to show a drivers license to get your library card?

I called the library and they assured me they’d put a note on the account so that the next time he tried to use his card. And I thought we were all squared away.

Well, Mr. Clingerman never returned his 1st overdue book, so now I’m getting notices to my house to cough up $27 to replace it. And he’s obviously been allowed to check out NEW BOOKS because I’m getting new notices now for newly checked out/overdue books.

I had to call and raise hell now, and they’re finally removing my address from this persons account and putting a block on the account. Sheesh!
