That Year-End Meme, totally ripped off from
1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
uhhh….
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t really make resolutions. I just try to think of how not to fuck things up.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
One of my online friends, Leslie had a baby in June and I got to visit with him this month! But no one around me locally.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no. Jim has had close friends who have lost parents this year though.
5. What countries did you visit?
None this year. Hopefully 2005 won’t be the same?

If I had my own office, I would shut the door and take a nap right now.
It’s probably a good thing I sit in a cubicle.

with the Sound of Music…
This movie is a favorite of mine and I watched it every year on TV growing up. I let my girls stay up til midnight the other night watching it with me - their first time! I had to explain a bit of it to them but for the most part, they got it and really enjoyed it. I guess the concept of a musical is not something my 7 year old was aware of, because she commented “Why does she have to SING about everything? Can’t she just talk?” And when they did the song “A few of my favorite things…”, Grace said, “sounds like more than a FEW of her favorite things, that’s a LOT of favorites!”
Hee hee.
I explained to my girls that the young lady playing Maria was the same actress who played Mary Poppins, and is now playing a grandmother in Princess Diaries (one of their favorite movies!). Didn’t help me feel any younger ![]()

I’m enjoying working from home this week. Up at 8ish and online, working til lunch time in my jammies, a long shower and some TV during my lunch break…and done working before dark.
It’s going to be so hard to return to the real world. Happily, in 2 weeks I’m leaving on a REAL vacation to the (hopefully) snow covered mountains of North Carolina. And then back to the real world. For real. With no days off for a while.
Wah.

I just discovered my little guy is running a fever of almost 102 degrees. And he’s due to go to a big party at my mom’s workplace in 2 hours. And he’s been looking forward to it all day.
I feel like the worst. mother. ever. ‘Cause not 2 hours ago he was banished to his room for a nap because of the way he was acting. What I took to be 5 year old attitude turned out to be 5 year old not feeling well. DUH.
You would think that after almost 9 years (9 years? HOLY CRAP!) of this mom stuff, I’d have bought a clue by now.
