I evacuated for Ivan. All the way to Cleveland to impose on a friend I hadn’t seen in over a year. We had such a nice time, but came back to hot, humid, Florida. Thankfully Ivan passed us by also. The hurricane season we’ve had this summer combined with the awesome weather we had in Ohio makes me want to get out of Florida more than ever!
I came back to find a check waiting for me from my old job. It was my accrued PTO. Apparently it’s treated like a bonus and the government taxed the hell out of it. What started out as a check for almost $400 ended up being just over $200. Oh well, it’s something, right? Looks like it’s going to end up paying for new tires on my van. (Somehow I can’t get excited over that!)
I also started the ball rolling on my 401K withdrawl. Thanks to the company match I got earlier this year, it’ll be enough to pay for the laminate wood flooring we’re putting in the house. I can’t wait for that to get here so we can start ripping up carpet and vinyl!

One thing I miss about my old workplace…
the huge ass file cabinet in the ladies room filled with a never ending supply of individually wrapped Tampax. Sure was a nice little perk and I filled my purse more than once, thereby saving myself a tampon run to the super Walmart.
One more thing I miss….
having friends to go to lunch with 
Being the new girl sucks! I had such a great group of girlies I was friends with at my old job and we used to eat lunch together or go out all the time.
One thing I love about my new workplace…
so far, no crazy bitches.
Two things I love about my new workplace…
no micro managing boss. Oh, and more money! Always a good thing
